I have been having a problem, ever since I've been using adsense on my website and was wondering if any of you have experienced the same issue and/or have possible ideas as to why it is happening. I actually cornered Joel Comm at a conference a few years ago and he was dumbfounded as to what is going on. I have 2 websites, set up in basically the same way, with articles (approximately 60 of them in total) that draw in about approx 300 visitors a day. I have a very nice ctr on most of the pages and revenue appears steady...then all of a sudden it dies. Same traffic and NO CLICKS! Impressions are still showing up, and the topics of pages and ads that are showing up are generally the same as always. The searches that people are coming in on are the same as well. It just seems like someone is turning my adsense revenue on and off like a switch. By the way, I averaged 20 clicks a day, over the past 3 days and today NOTHING! Any ideas? |

Happens to all of us. There's no way of telling what the problem could be.

Are there plenty of advertisers? Are the ads usually quite consistent in so much as do the same advertisers stick around? Is your niche seasonal? If you are getting the same number of visitors and your ads are always relevant then it doesn't make much sense.

| That's my point. It doesn't make sense because everything is the same And relevant. Also it's not seasonal and there are always plenty of advertisers for the multiple topics that I have pages about (meaning that it's not the same exact niche on each page, but each page is serving plenty of relevant ads)

Just an update...the switch has been flipped, back to normal. I really wish I knew what was going on. |

That kind of things happen all the time. Remember tech is not perfect or doesn't work at a 100 percent all the time. |

I had read somewhere that there was a problem with "click hijacking", or something like that. I thought that maybe that is what is happening with me. If everyone says that it happens to them as well, then it's just the way it is... From my point of view, numbers don't lie. They tell a story of what is going on and when you see a HUGE dip for no apparent reason, then something just doesn't add up. |
