page rank it still important?

Hello people i would like to ask if page rank is still important for the new algorithm of google now.. Because i read from other forums that page rank is now dead.. Few days from now google updated page rank but some says that it is not important.

I found it really isn't. I can consistently outrank high PR sites with just a little extra work. They are good for backlinks, and will definitely help your search traffic, but it isn't such a big deal anymore.

Please Define "Important"..

Page Rank is a way to tell people how important is this site - In terms of ranking power and "trust" authority.

When we build authority site, we can rank for many long tail keywords without having any links! Yes, anyone can outrank authority site page, but I bet they need more links than the authority site itself!

Traffic is important, and higher PR + proper keyword optimized articles = traffic, traffic + conversion = $$$

Your right, it means nothing to serps ranking. It does mean a lot to indexing, how often and how much Google wants your content. Yahoo and Bing probably have similar measures. If you dont get indexed then you will never show in the serps.

Google would love a natural web, by removing the public PR they hope that links are made more for relavancy rather than jsut becasue of a PR.

Well most of the time people worried about getting PR so in that way It is not thing to worry as if you do proper promotion and quality link building it will come after time but one of most important thing is Search engine Ranking. We should concentrate more an more on that to improve it or maintain it at to top position rather than worrying about PR.

i think most important is traffic. if we have target visitors then we will earn some nice amount through google. Page rank is also important if you have quality back links then you can improve your PR.
