Today I'm thinking a lot about keyword research and wondering just how extensive it needs to be. Apparently some people just use the free wordtracker tool, which is pretty simple. And then there's the SEO tool that I've been looking at this morning, which is pretty extensive with all the info it gives you. And the Google external keyword tool is sort of in-between. (Not a very profound analysis, but it what's this newbie has come up with!) I'm looking for some feedback here on what is really needful for keyword research, and wondering if there are any other free tools that are reliable. Catherine |

I would say it depends. I believe you can get everything you need from free tools, but paid tools help you to do it a little quicker. For example, I use Micro Niche Finder and it's just brilliant and coming up with keywords fast - something that the Google Keyword tool can do, just slower. Also, Micro Niche Finder does have a few other measures to help you choose keywords. ~Ruth |

I have both Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai, but I use Market Samurai Extensively! Market samurai is the best keyword research tool for organic SEO, I can use it to generate thousands of keywords easily !

I am an SEO and I never recommend third-party keyword research tools. I think, if you are targeting Google, you should use it's own keyword research tool. It provides precise and up-to-date results. I think you should go for that. And of course, keywords with low competition and high traffic are the ones that you must look for. :-) |
