Most of us understand the concept of writing & distributing your own press releases. But how about from the other side: how do we use other people's press releases as content for our website? For example, lets say I have a website about movies. I have a "news" section where I just post general articles. I use Google News to help me find new content. So I find this article, about Jim Carey's new movie, from the Associated Press (its actually hosted on Google): The Associated Press: Carrey's 'Christmas Carol' wraps up $31M weekend Is this a raw press release? Is it fair game to copy & use on my website ? What is the best way to find "raw press releases" ? Finally, your tips or thoughts on using press releases as website content are appreciated. I want to know if its a worthwhile strategy for generating regular news content to keep my visitors entertained. |

Professional news journalists use press releases as "news stories" for newspapers and websites. Seems to me a press release is free content that you can use for your website. So I was wondering what is the source for all these press releases. |
