Default Need advice on a new PPC campaign!

I am very close to launching my product. I decided to run a test in Adwords to see how many impressions I would get in a day on a keyword that gets about 30,000 searches per month. I ended up with around 1000 impressions and about 11 clicks. I am selling my product with a $1.00 offer. They pay a dollar and try the product out for thirty days after thirty days their card is charged $28.00.
Two questions
1) how do you get more traffic when the keyword tool shows only a handful of keywords with ok volume for your product?
2) can my offer make up for it buy getting more people to convert?

Thanks in advance for the help

Hi BigV316,

In web marketing there is a term called "the long tail". In many cases the collective volume of searches from less frequently searched terms can far exceed the total search volume of the top 10 keyword phrases. By advertising on the long tail, you can more than double your impressions and sales.

To go way beyond the limited number of impressions available from the Search Network you can advertise on the Content Network. You are likely to get at least a 10 fold increase of impressions when you exploit the Content Network.

Also, another thing to keep in mind, is corner markets. So for example, let's say I was targeting business executives as my main target market. Well if I wanted to expand my reach, I could look into targetting other professional's like lawyers, Sales people, managers, etc...

So if your main market isn't as big as you'd like it to be, look into targeting similar markets as well. It takes a lot more testing and tweaking of your campaigns, but in the end it's worth it. Hope this helps

As people have suggested above you may be able to expand your keywords list or expand your target market, you question also goes deeper, first more keys , have you run a campaign optimizer from your tools, this may help find some more keywords.

Next your conversion rate for your ads is at 1%, you would want to work on this and improve that up as high as you can, so you would want 3 - 5 ads working in thee and over time the worst deleted and a new improved ad added to the list until they were working better, making better use of the impressions you have now.

Next you mention your offer being improved to convert more people, well yes like your ad you need to be improving you site conversions as well where possible.

Most people from what i have seen do not turn on the tap and expect it to run perfect out of the box first time out, and understand it will need tweaking as you move forward.
