if you open the site mentioned on that page, they have their own description which is pretty small. Google has ignored their description and generated one for themselves

Thanks for sharing, this is rather old news. Google first blogged about this back in March of this year.

Official Google Blog: Two new improvements to Google results pages

The longer snippets are triggered when you use longer search terms. Google is full of useful little enhancements like this, I pity the fool that tries to compete with this innovative company.

incorrect,the description is the same, but if you take a look at the tags next to the images, it's indexed those as well.

interesting indeed. That could be one their updates. Maybe they want to give visitors a little more info on the sites that show up.

it will vary from user to user mate... if i see my pages ranked first for phrase, your end of the woods it might not or may be ranked 2nd, or 3rd, etc...

google ranks pages more based on your geo-ip location now...

No, I mean when I went to the cartoonstock link from google I checked what description they had put.
