Default Adsense.. I see the light!

ok well last week i made .81 cents on my first adsense click.! wow i was so excited,I know I may sound really noob, But this was really good for me,I see that theirs good money in Adsense. Im at $4.70 now for the week. Now I just want to make more,.. I have one car site I route traffic to..Gets about 200-300 uniques a day and i had no other way of making money from this, so I tryed adsence and its working for now.I also have a dog site where i give away info and I have adsense there as well. And a affilite link. So Im starting to add more content and Id like to get ahold on tracking my clicks from site to site? Any easy tracking software that I can add on other sites later?

Hi Tron,

Integrating your Adsense account with analytics will return good data on which of your pages are producing the best CPMs. Unfortunately, doing so doesn't quite tell you which ads where clicked. For that you'll need more robust software.

I used to use one by Jon Leger (Adsense Gold) but I don't think it's available anymore. I also think Joel Comm had one called Adsense Detective, but I've never used it. Seems like the only game in town is Adsense Tracker (adsensetracker dot com).

Hope this helps.

It's strange, as when I asked for a review of my first web site, I was told to get rid of adsense, which I did. I think I will put it back.

hmmnn.. well benlauren it depends on that you are doing with your site. If its your sales page you definitely don't want any outgoing links but if the page is "made for adsense" you want people to click.,I believe the latter is against adsense TOS.. Which is not what im into. I provide great info and hope they click a link to leave lol ..

for tracking clicks, be sure to take advantage of Adsense's channels. If you assign a channel to each ad position (for example, "dog site above post" or whatever) you do quickly get a real clear idea of which set of ads the viewers are clicking most, etc. I find this really useful.

If you have Google adsense account then you can add meta tag to analyze the visitor,
or you can add sitemeter code to your site which provide excellent analytical report about your site visitors.

I dont think you should try it:

NEW! June 01, 2007:

is the latest post in the news section. This was back when people had tracking devices for adsense, but they changed to code so it probably wont work anymore.

That's good for you as starting, I've gotten a click at $3.05 in the past, the highest rate per click I got so far.

I used to earn about $90 per month right now from 2-3 blogs. I'm working on another niche blog, hope it works well for me.

The cheapest and easiest way to do it may be to just channelize your Ads on the website. This way you can see the number of impressions and the clicks on each ad. You can blend the ads that don't perform too well.

What kind of tracking software u need?

Use Adsense channels to track. It will be much easier. They show u the # of impression, CTR and money earned

hmm ... working on it.

As of today, i have 1074 Domains in my portfolio and a couple of them have adsense. The difficult thing is to relate the earnings data from Google Analytics / Adsense report to the respective Ad clicked on.

Adsense Channels are limited to 100, which is a little pain when working with a "portfolio strategy"

I try to address this, but my product is not ready for release,
so i´d rather share the process to get you move ahead ...

If you are into coding,
tracking the clicks and AdCopy can be done with a JavaScript event listener.
The Jquery lib can make firing the parsing a lot easier.

The basics:
... when someone clicks an "ad link", the adjacent code aka "the ad copy" can be parsed and written back to a database via a simple ajax call.

The Advanced stuff:
... so far one would not have data, on how much that click brings in earnings ...
one could use channels to have time frame strips and with some clever logic,
one would get a pretty good idea on what works and what not.

... i guess, knowing what ad copy people click on,
would help us a lot in generating "click inspiring" content ...
;-)

but as i said, i am working on it and figuring it out ...

Stay tuned,
hope that helps.

Detlev

Tron2k,

... i automate all repetitive stuff and have a "point and shoot" editor, which allows me to pick any website, filtered by criteria and work on its content or functionality ... it´s all database driven ...

A new domain is usually up in a couple minutes with basic menus and content.

hope that helps
:-)
