lol i'd tell you - but it has my first and last name in the article and i don't really want that information out there. basically i created a new field of study in philosophy. I gave it a clever name, wrote up some text that looked legit. It was on there for years and had like 25 edits lol people were correcting my spelling mistakes. |

Peace :)

That's because he STARTED the Wikipedia page. If you try to update an existing Wikipedia page, it will most likely get changed back by the mods. But if you start one, you stand a good chance of it staying up. You WILL have to check it frequently to make sure your links haven't been "edited out" by someone else.

Wow, hi Angela. I've heard SO much about you. Glad you checked out the thread. Actually, I only created one article myself. The rest were edits on other articles. Everyone is correct that people edit and re-edit these pages regularly. Instead of checking the Wiki pages regularly, I view my Traffic Source data regularly. For instance, I knew something was up the other day when I had been receiving about 30 visits/day from one article source and it dropped to like 2 that day. I then went to look at the article. Someone tried to find a better link to the info I provided, but it was a broken link. i kindly reverted it back and explained it was a broken link that was posted. Again, this should NOT be anyone's full time traffic strategy. It offers a nice influx of traffic at the beginning, while you are waiting to get indexed and build backlinks, etc. My advice, if someone changes your article, forget about it and move on. After your site is indexed in a week or so, you'll really have less of a need for Wikipedia traffic. It definitely works, but it is something that must be monitored in order to be maintained. We should be aiming for less work. So, use this idea in your opening weeks and then let your other traffic sources take you the rest of the way. Best of luck to you all.
