Default Should title tag show text in body of page?

I hear the title tag is very important for seo. I use site studio to design my webpage. It comes free with my hosting. It has an area where you just type in the title and it adds the tags.

Well that is fine but it also adds the text in the body of my page. I thought title tags were only supposed to show in the top of the browser and not in the body of the page.

I don't want the text in the body of the page. I guess I have to do my own html. Just not sure why it is doing that.

Am I right that title tags are supposed to be hidden and not show the text in the body of the page.

Here is my website Abbott Trophies Las Vegas, Plaques, Awards, Engraving

Can someone look at my html and see if it looks like it should be correct?

Your HTML is correct. Is this a canned website where you don't write HTML? That's why I've always built my own sites from scratch - takes longer - but you have more control.

It is a template and I just fill in the blanks. I guess I have to do my own html.

Hi,

It appears that the generator you're using is adding the wording that's found in the Title Tags to the body of the page.

Look for these lines (replace the * with proper open and close brackets):

*font face='Helvetica' size='+1' color='#99CCFF'*
Abbott Trophies Las Vegas, Plaques, Awards, Engraving
*font*

Once you find them, simply delete those lines.

By the way, it's ok to have the wording in your title tags also appear in the body's text. Of course, this is debatable, but that's a topic for another post. ; )

Hope this helps.

- Jay
