Default Linking between own sites

There's a lot of discussion about backlinks to site and articles, but what about between a collection of self hosted blogs? For instance I have a lot of domains with a main keyword in them but different qualifying keywords, which might be something like 'airplane.com', 'airplanewheels.net', 'airplanefuel.org' and so on. There is a lot of duplicated content between them.

So how does one go about linking between them? I plan to put a blogroll on each of the sites but I don't want to hurt any of the rankings. My first thought is that if I always link as many in to each blog as there are links out, I won't lose anything on any site. No doubt there is a preferred way to do this, so I'd appreciate anything you can share.

If all the sites are on the same IP which they are if you have a shared account this will only hurt your rankings

If you want different sites' link to count, the IP and domain must be different.

Just don't over do it. Try to stick to 1 way linking and different IP's if you can.

Synthesize me, And reboot, I need to start again, I need to make it different

Ensure IPs are different and mix and match the inbound links, dont do direct reciprocal links as Google wil clock on.

Also, ensure that the domain names do not show the same address, registrar and nameservers otherwise this will also get some alarm bells ringing. If you can, try and get yourself domain privcay installed or register them on someone elses name at a different address.

Theres several companies that offer SEO hosting which is a collection of several IPs, I havent tried this so dont know how effective they are though.

I would avoid this compleetly though and focus on building each site up as an individual site with backlinks from other sources, I have a similar situation to you but why worth risking it all?
