As I silently continue my Xfactor Adsense Campaign (3 weeks in, average about $11/day with 9 sites), I've been approaching various means of backlinking. As a student pursuing my master's degree, I do get tired of writing, so while I am writing articles, I'm also supplementing where I can. In my process of blog commenting, I've paid attention to dofollow through the use of a Firefox plugin. However, I haven't limited myself to strictly dofollow blogs, and have done some relevant nofollow blogs as well. A few days ago, I went into my Webmaster Tools to check some backlinks, only to see a variety of nofollow links. With that being said, does the fact that these nofollow links are appearing in Webmaster tools mean that they do indeed, hold value when it comes to Backlinking? |

I guess the only way to ever know for sure would be to create a brand new site and link to it only from nofollow sites and see what happens. If the site gained some PR or ranking then you know that a nofollow link is still good |

Nofollows are still links. Also you have to ask yourself, Google is looking for a natural linking profile, so what would that include - yep you got it, a mix of normal and nofollow links.
