blog added to site SEO

I added a wordpress blog to my XSitePro site, Is this blog considered totally new by the search engines? Does the current promotion I do for my site good enough for the blog also? I did not create a sub-domain for the blog just a regular folder like below

c:\my-site
c:\my-site\blog-folder\

I think your existing domain carries some weight. If you have a PR 4 or above domain, your blog would easily tap into many long tail traffic without backlinks, so I don't think Google will consider your blog is "new"...
