Default Keywords the Most Important Building Block? Opinions?

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say a general thanks to everyone's tips and hints...they've been very helpful!

I would like to talk about the importance of keywords for a moment and get some feedback or interesting thoughts from everyone.

I have found that keywords are THE most important part of any SEO or Adwords campaign. There appears to be no other way, in terms of building a foundation. other than by making sure you have workable keywords with not too many queries per month and not too few. They must be deeply related to content and domain name.

I would be interested in hearing if people agree with me or maybe if you think there is a MORE important foundation step than keyword research.

Thanks again!

Keyword is definitely important, I agree. However, if we talk about converting those keywords into profit, I think the quality of the landing page also important, especially when using adwords.

Good keywords wont deliver much income if we don't really put more attention to the landing page. So, I am sure that for the best result, combining great keyword with nice LP will deliver result.

Thanks Most. So basically LP content must coincide with appropriate keyword selection?

The most important thing is does your site convert. Do you have an USP, how are you different from your competitors.

Do you have an irresistible offer? Are you targeting the right market do they want what you are offering? Do you have a well design site?

I would start their first. Then look at your keywords. Keywords are important however if you do not have an irresistible offer you will have mediocre sales at best. I hope that helps.

I totally agree. From my experience without keywords there is no point to working on a site. The foundation of any good seo site is the keyword research.

Keywords play a major role in SEO.

They make you reach the targetted audience rather than your domain name. If your site is optimised to a particular keyword, it can easily rank high on google. Getting your domain name advertised will take longer duration rather than the keyword optimization.

Ya. Keywords is definitely important especially in e-business or internet marketing.
You need to analyse and look for a good keyword before you start your online business.

Many people doesn't pay much attention to keyword research, and straight to building a site or writing content for it...

Some are too "ambitious", they target those highly competitive keywords and try to rank them in weeks, which might take months before seeing any result!

There are still many low competition and decent search volume keywords, those are goldmine to me, and I would spend days just to find as much as possible.
