what do you mean by bookmarking a backlink?

does it means everytime i have a page with a backlink i need to submit that page to sites like digg.com and so on?

i don't seem to understand, so for example if i have 300 backlinks

i need to submit each one of them?

backlinking a backlink has 2 purposes.

(1) First, if your backlink is on a page that is not heavily crawled by the search engines, then by adding links to your backlink, then the chances that the search engines will fine them increases greatly;

(2) Second, by adding backlinks to your backlinks, you are increasing the authority and power of your backlinks, so that "link juice" will get passed along to your original/main/money site.


If you have posts on heavily travelled blogs, you probably don't need to add links to your posts as google will find them themselves. But, if you have backlinks on isolated pages, most commonly profile pages, then you really should be adding backlinks to these pages to backlinks to help google find them.

This could be in the form of RSS feeds, bookmarking, blog posts, etc.

Bookmarking/Pinging or doing something to get the attention of Search Engines so they will crawl the page for the link you just created is a strategy that certainly helps. How much depends on where you place your links.

what i dont understand is, i need to send a profile useless page to a bookmark site?
i thought this sites only accepts quality post ?? or articles??

im confuse people. anyone can explain it better.
it really looks odd to send 300 or more profile or blog post pages to a site like digg or delicious etc.

You are right, many bookmarking sites will not like this!

However, you can find less authority, but with high PR sites, like pligg, scuttle and scuttle plus. Some of those sites had high PR, and frequently updated by Google, and they might not check every links you post.

If your account get removed, just move on, some site will allows you to bookmark to your profile sites!

Many more bookmarking site are accept do follow link and the other hand some sites are no follow sites whose not beneficial for back link.

Just a quick question guys, If you were to back link hundreds of profiles, wouldn't the bookmark sites catch this and ban your account?
