I need the sitemap generator so that I can submit it to Google. I have uploaded multiple generators but it seems they never create it. When I try to check it by visiting (mysite.com/sitemap.xml) I get the following message: Error loading stylesheet: A network error occured loading an XSLT stylesheet:http://mysite.com/wp-content/plugins...or/sitemap.xsl I have been trying to figure this out and/or get help from others for hours now but I'm just being ignored. If anyone can, please help |

| Did you check Settings/Privacy? One of my hosts switched it to block the searchengines by default and you need to manually change the settings. Somebody mentioned it might be a Fantastico thing.

Go to your Wordpress Settings menu and check the privacy settings. The latest updates for some hosts will set the privacy to block search engines by default.

Did you set your robots.txt to block this? Otherwise check with your host, I believe they could help you out. I've faced similar problem before, but I just deactived the plugin and re-did everything, rebuilt the sitemap and it worked. Perhaps you can try to rebuild your sitemap from step #1. Let us know Wealthclark. |

It seems that something just doesn't want me to be successful at this. When I finally get past this there will be another road block, I'm sure. It's been like this for years but one day all of these unusual problems will finally pay off. My wife Thinks I'm Nuts! Thanks everyone for trying to assist

I finally got it guy's, thanks everyone. One of the other plugins created a in the following format: www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml.gz I have no idea which one did this but this was the one denying access to google. I visited my cpanel and deleted it, now everything seems to be correct. I hope. Anyone know what type of plugin could have created this type of sitemap? |

the .gz format is a compressed file format and Google has no problem reading them. I not sure how that helps you, just thought you'd want to know.

| Thanks, I understand that Google can read those files. The problem was not the file itself but the commands in the file which were denying access to Google. As I stated, I have no idea how the file or the commands in the file were created.

Hi Wealthyclark, The Sitemaps Protocol recommends putting a line in your Robots.txt file specifying the location and file name of your sitemap file. Perhaps the Robots.txt file name did not contain the .gz extension, that would have cause the problem you experienced. Anyway, the compressed format isn't really necessary unless you have a large sitemap file. Glad you got it fixed! |

Personally I'm triying to avoid wordpress plugins. You can submit your sitemap FREE at sitemapwriter.com/notify.php
