Do Angela/Paul's Packets Even Work?

I've been adding their links for months and I'm wondering... do I need to ping them? I've added at least 200 to my articles and yahoo site explorer shows me at... 10. Any ideas?

Sometimes it can take 3-4 weeks for links to show up in Yahoo
and even then not all of them will have been counted. Just keep
going.

As for the value of those links they are 3rd tier links and they
are valuable but you need hundreds to thousands to get any
of the bigger keywords.

Long tail stuff only needs tens to hundreds though

I've used them on several new small websites and have seen some good results. I didn't check the numbers in Yahoo but it didn't matter to me, I was at the top in Google for my target keyword

Yeah these links sure works, if you are building backlinks to third party site like EZA articles etc, you can ping them.

Else if you are building backlinks to your new site, I don't recommend pinging. Let google find it out and you will have a more natural backlinks this way.

Yes the link do work but they take some time to show up in some tools. Also I advise you if you want to get quicker and better rankings try to mix you your backlinking by getting links from related websites. That helps a lot.

Adding some web 2.0 links also help to boost your rankings.

Brandon,

Do a search on Google for the username and text you entered when doing the links. If they are showing then whether they show or not in a backlink tool they are there and will eventually show up.

That's good advice right there. A lot of those sites are deleting profiles, so it is possible that some of those profiles with backlinks are gone.

You're not evening pinging them? Where are the profile backlink basics people. These are isolated pages that Google usually does not crawl. Sure on some heavily traveled sites they find the profile pages, but otherwise you gotta show some initiative. The search function is your friend.

ping em
mash em up into a rss feed and send them to some rss aggregator
social bookmark them
put them in the profile section of profile pages you know are already indexed (and sites that allow many links).

use your imagination.

It seems like every single day on this forum there is the same exact thread, with people spending all their time building profile backlinks, but don't understand the very basics here.

I think you should definitely be pinging them, I started doing this a couple of months ago and it's definitely made a positive difference

I'm also wondering if you get even more of your links/profiles deleted than the average profile backlinker due to (I assume) the word penis in your anchor texts and such. If the site owners see those kind of words then it's likely they will delete them. Make sure you log out as soon as you have left your links, otherwise the site admins will see you in the online user lists and such.

Hey, I can tell you for a fact that backlink packets do work, if they are done right. My question is have you checked how many are still in place to be found and indexed?

Take the 'full url' of the page with your link on and paste the url into a ping service like ping-o-matic and submit.

And thats it..
