@enwereuzo - you need to strike a well defined balance between a highly focused site which has content relevancy for the given search term, with the need to not make the site useless without the ads. You also need to consider the performance of the site. If its bloated with useless markup, its going to slow things down for the user and they will hop right back to where they came from. So quality of content and speed of delivery are the key things here. In other words, if you launch with 1-3 product pages initially, along with the supportive pages (about, contact, privacy, etc), and you make the content on those pages highly useful to the reader, you will stand a much better chance to rank hightly in the serps right out of the gate. So you've satisfied the viewer and the engine and that's the key balance you are working with. And the speed at which your site performs, I believe, has an impact on G's opinion of it. And assuming you are not a web designer who can code xhtml/css markup, you will be way ahead of the game, if you can utilize a site building platform and supporting theme system that enforces good seo and valid xhtml markup using highly optimized css for presentation. (by highly optimized, I mean not bloated, as I find most popular wordpress themes to be grossly overburdened with css code bloat.) As an example, a template design that I really love, its called Inove. It has 1700 lines of css! There was no way I was going to serve a site through that! I ended up remixing the exact same design, pixel for pixel, in 52 lines of css. Can you guess which version a user will prefer in terms of speed of access to your content (and ads)? They both look identical, side by side, but if you look under the hood, you'll see a completely different picture. One has been meticulously crafterd for speed and fidelity to the original design, the other looks great, but sacrifices on speed. A well crafted site building system can do that for you. ^^^ This of course is a shameless plug, since I built just such a system, but just pick a tool that delivers on these promises, whatever you do, and your time can be freed to concentrate on the most important thing of all 5 fundamentals to my method, which is niche selection. Bottom line: The things you have the most control over are the tools that you employ to run your business. And you have to think of it as a business and run it that way... Make sense? That's what #5 is all about. |

Ok, I am getting my content written for my sites, I am doing multiple articles per site and I want to know what is a no no as far as content goes. 1. Can I put pictures of the product or item I'm talking about in each article or should I stick with just text? 2. Say I'm writing for example, articles about the different types of Oreo cookies available, can I put a link in my article linked to amazon or any site where the viewer can go to purchase the product? edit: scratch number 1, I seen a post a few pages back that said to add pics. |

Its critical that you have some callouts and scannable paragraph headings so that they don't linger too long and lose their instinct to act. You want to engage them to stay in purchase mode and quickly decide to take the blue pill as the preferred (and only) exit... That's why having scannable content is very important. Just to be clear, what I'm referring to by "scannable" is the ease with which the viewer's eyes can quickly glance across your page and assimilate a positive response to their need. Some good ways to do this is have compelling headlines and paragraph headers that are in boldface and/or italics to lead the eye down and back up to the heat zone.

clickbump, I'm gonna try your method but I might need your help. I'll try to do a keyword research and get at least 5 candidates, and gather enough data if it is feasible and can I get your opinion as the last call for action? thank you. |

Hey Clickbump In terms of images, do you use free stock images, paid stock or just random ones found on google's image search etc? I think I ought to add some pics to my site (right now it's white and not all that interesting looking) but I don't want to break any rules by stealing other peoples pics... |

Well the other day my site wouldn't go up and I couldn't figure out why. Figured out last night I needed to change the DNS servers, did that and added my articles and such to the site at 6pm yesterday. Right now it's 11am and it's #9 on google. Awesome. That gave me some more motivation and I bought a domain for another word I've been researching. Probably gonna look for words all day now, haha. |

1.) It looks like you had your layout displayed with the ads right above your images like this: title ads images That is a no-no according to the Adsense TOS because it confuses the visitor and may "trick" them. There always has to be a line or two of text in between ads and images so that a visitor can easily distinguish an ad from the images that are featured on a site. Read more on that on the Adsense blog. Your layout should have been: title ads a line of text images 2.) Your lack of content may have been the reason why

Hey.. Micro niche sites are always my main point of concert and now after reading this thread of yours I'm really feeling like to dominate this world too. However I have done some keyword research and got few micro keywords. What should I do if .com .net .org domain on those keywords have been taken? But .co.uk and .org.uk are still available.. Is it a good deal to go with .co.uk? However I can only see xxxxxxx. org in the first 10 searches.. I hope you'll reply this question of mine.. ![]() Is it fine to go with wordpress? |

Hi, am interested in this idea. Will try it out soon. I understand it would be good to use WordPress, get a domain and hosting. The thing is, how would I be able to design my WP as a static website? Just by manipulating the CSS or is there something else to it? Or do I need to buy some kind of WP themes online? Thanks! |

Titans You make a couple of interesting points, I'm curious to know how many ppl are using multiple business names to create Adsense accounts? Is this a common practice? do you have a specific formula for creating these, i.e. for every 100 sites you have a separate LLC? thanx Garry |

Specifically, with respect to SEO, if you just cover the basics and don't go "plugin happy" loading your site with every add-on app that promises to improve your SEO, then you will be fine. Here are some tips for enhancing your "on-page" SEO... 1) The page needs to load fast. Google has so much as said, all things being equal, the faster page gets the nod. 2) The page needs to have a title that's a match for the search term in which its optimized for. The Title IS the most critical factor for on-page SEO that you have control over. 3) The page needs to have a single H1 heading tag with keyword text that matches or complements the page's Title tag. (don't use more than one H1 per page) 4) The page needs to have valid, structurally sound and semantically correct html (or preferably xhtml) markup. It also helps here if the designer has taken time to offload ALL presentation details to a linked css (and the css is not a bloated mess which slows things down for the user). 5) As a bonus, especially for Google images traffic, the page needs to have at least a few images, whose title is a match for the search term. 6) If you want to get traffic from search providers other than Google, your page needs to have a description and a keyword meta tag which reflects its content without resorting to keyword stuffing. Hope that helps! ~ s

wow - 38 sites. I must be doing something seriously wrong here since I have about 40 sites and earning about $2-8 a day. Quit a few of them are on first page but dancing around the 6-10 spots. What I noticed through all my sites that are on the front page is that they can't seem to outrank those big shopping sites like amazon and target who usually have double listing. I do throw some high PR back links consistently at some of my sites to try and get it up there since it's possible I'm not earning much due to none of my sites are in the top 3. Only time will tell I guess... been at it for about 5 weeks now. Thanks for everything in this thread. |

You can use Google Insights for Search to find out and give some indication. Otherwise I would most likely move on. Some people just put review, site, blog or something else after the keyword, others believe that if you do this you will find it hard to rank. I have had mixed results...but generally these days stick to the keyword only.

There are other ways to do it as well. For example, in my templating system I use a sticky post for the home page, this is the main keyword phrase page. I prefer to use posts for product page content and pages for static, unchanging content such as "about, contact, privacy, etc". Posts provide much more flexibility and offer post excerpts, tags, and category settings all accessible from the post editor.

My experience is similar to yours . . . 4 of my 5 my "ClickBump-type" sites are on the first page of Google, at #2, #4, #5, #5, but I am getting only a few percent of ClickBump's claimed earnings (one of those sites doesn't have the required search numbers (because I forgot to change "broad" to "exact"), yet is earning about the same as the others, but the other 3 are well above the requirements overall). Is anyone here getting anything like ClickBumps claimed earnings (per site per day), by following the formula ??????? Chris-

Adsense is not the only game in town ya know. You can go with a different advertising network also. In the mean time, since your site is about wedding photo frames why make money off of affiliate sales from your site??? Amazon, Overstock, ect. Ebay is cpc now also in case you weren't aware. Aside from that, if you read the thread carefully there have been umpteen posts about how you can get another adsense account... |

I set up most of my sites on Webmaster tools, but I no longer place analytics on new sites. I've got analytics on a few established sites that are generating enough traffic to warrant data analysis, but I don't pay much attention to it honestly. I spend more time on rankchecker and adsense dashboard than any other analytics tools. Webmaster tools, for me is much more useful than analytics, since it shows me exactly what the G bot thinks of my site and which keywords its pimping for me. The diagnostics tools are also helpful. I check SEObook's rankchecker daily in order to see which of my sites have movement. I take a daily screenshot of the rankchecker results and save it as dd-mm-year.jpg in a dedicated "rankings" folder for historical tracking at a glance (I don't turn on adsense on a site until its on the first page, so this helps me track potential earners). Finally, at the beginning and end of each day, I look to adsense dashboard to track the impressions/clicks of all my sites and recalibrate my overall approach to my portfolio from there.

Hi CB, thank you for making such a gold thread. As a noobs here, I found two best ever threads from Xfactor and Clickbump. I just started my 8 micro niche sites for about 3 weeks ago. My 4 sites are following Xfactor method, and 4 sites are following CB method. And yes, it's all work great for me! Though my sites are not ranked in 1st G page but they are still ranked for other keywords which I don't even predict it before. And I earn stable for about $2-3 everyday ![]() I know it's just only beginning and I will make a lot more micro niche sites. Btw, anyone notice that .org domain is hard to be in the 1st page? Or it's just me... |

One more question, please, CB (and anyone else who wishes to share). - When submitting to Webmaster Tools, do you submit just the site URL, or the sitemap as well. - If the sitemap as well, do you use a plugin like Google Sitemap XL, or anything, or where do you get the sitemap. - If someone else uses the above plugin for sitemap generation, what settings do you use - Daily, weekly, monthly, always - for spider crawl settings? Thanks Okay, it was more than one question. |

There is a quick question going on in my mind I just had a keyword research and found that a keyword has exact 5000 searches per month. But for that keyword I found wikipedia/keyword ranking for no.1 on google. Is it easy enough to defeat wikipedia? What about that keywords for whom wikipedia or other high PR article directories like hold rank one position on google for that keyword? |

Titans, can you re-post the 2 posts you previously had up or PM me them, I usually save everything I take in as notes, but ive been busy the past few days and was going to come back to your tips for not getting banned from ad sense and obtaining a LLC. Update: The first site i built is now at number 2 on google, and the second just got indexed today at number 10, it's getting wayyy more traffic than my 1st site tho, I think this one may be a winner once it starts to move up. |

This thread is awesome (thanks Clickbump and other contributors)....I have a few questions : 1. How do you find the age of a site? 2. At what age does a site move from 'dancing in' (i.e. fairly new) to established? 3. How do calculate how many advertisers are competing for a particular keyword phrase? The 'Advertise Competition' column in the GAKT doesn't give an actual number of competing advertisers, rather it says high, average or low. I tend to use the 'sponsored links' column in the search results as my only guide? Is there a better way of doing this? Gg |
