When posting comments on blogs, does the backlink still get created and is visible to search engines when the link to your site is created as a clickable link showing your name??

Sure, why wouldn't it?
It would be great to use anchor text but I typically use my name. Keywords for name are not likely to get approved. Once in a while I do use my keyword.

A back link is created when the PAGE you place your link on gets crawled and indexed. There may be a nofollow attribute or a robot text file that prevents the links from being used for ranking or being indexed at all. But if you worry to much about just SEO Benefit you are missing the point of linking.

Where ever you can, make sure the name is really your keyword. No point trying to rank for your name is it? It might be a backlink but it's a backlink that doesn't count. Whether it looks spammy or not is not the point.

I used to leave comment by using keyword, it doesn't really build your brand if you use keyword. I've stopped using keyword to leave comment and I'm using my name to leave comment, it's to build relationship with the community, it might help in building brand and your future online business.
But when it comes to backlinks, yes keyword is good, especially dofollow link. So, it depends on the purpose. That's my 2 cents and what I'm doing right now. ![]() |

It depends on the site/page for me. If its a juicy PR7 domain with a PR6 blog post page, I don't care if I have to use my real name. I want that juice baby.

By following these few simple rules you’ll be able to get the most out of your blog commenting and achieve the results you’re attempting to reach. By commenting on only relevant blogs the proper way with useful comments you’ll find they will provide move value as a backlink and less likely to be marked as spam

.Plus if content is relevant, you can get direct traffic, finding relevant blog is not bad, but not really helping much in SEO. | |

many thanks for the replies, guys
I am making sure they are dofollow blogs and that they are relevant to my site, I also use my real name (though only first name) to keep it more personal and to build a rapport with the community

"if content is relevant" = you can get direct traffic finding relevant blog = not really helping much in SEO How come? I thought that whole point of SEO is traffic... In the end, authority or no authority, traffic is what matters. And the traffic that converts the best, is what you should seek for. Relevant authority blog then, do you agree?
