Lightbulb Back linking Help!

Hey All

I think i understand everything about back linking but there is a problem for me which is when i'm trying to get the backlinks.

I think i must have missed something because are you surpose to just search around at forums and blog for somthing to do with your traffic then post a comment with a link to your website i find it is taking me ages just to get a couple of links and then i look at my competitors for targeted keyword with hundreds & sometimes thousands. And i just can't get that many without spending months on it. So is there something i have missed i use market Samurai and i still am having trouble so any advice would be great.

Thanks Isaac

If you can't find links, then you don't know everything about backlinking unfortunately. There are literally hundreds of ways to build links. Do a search on any webmaster forum and you will get the same starting methods to get you going, ie, article submissions, blo commenting, blog creation, etc, etc, etc....

Check out social bookmarking. You can get hundreds of easy backlinks there. You can bookmark every article you have. And it will def help. Articles are good but dont do duplicate content.

Thanks,

I would do some social bookmarking. I am a member of social bookmarking 101 and am very happy with it. I would also buy steve heron's profile list, or any others on the warrior forum. You should also create a few web 2.0 properties and put unique content on each with a link to your site. Bookmark and ping the web 2.0 properties for some extra juice! This is more then enough to get you started. I do the 3 of these things and am having pretty decent luck! I also find that bookmarking internal pages, not just the home page makes things go better too! As said by others, there are so many ways to get links, these ways have worked for me though.

Hi Isaac,
You need backlinks so people will know that you have a site and can visit you, backlinks are also a way to get better rankings in the search engines, because the more links you have from other sites the better. You need links from sites that are related to your site, talking about the same things. For instance, if your site is about flowers, you need links back from sites discussing about flowers.

How to get links? You can write articles and submit them to article directories. In your resource box is a link back to your site. When other people post your article on their sites, they will link to your site as well.

You can do blog commenting.Comment on blogs that discuss about similar things as you.For instance, online marketers comment on other marketers blogs.Just make sure you make good comments and not just "good post" or "nice post".

Use Google blog search to find suitable blogs, here´s the link: Google Blog Search

The most important thing you need to do is write new content for your site everyday.

Forum posting can be very powerful depending on the niche. Not only will it let you get backlinks (usually through your signature) but if you take the time to particpate in the forum then you will get people clicking through just to see what you offer.

Using the forum just for backlinks isn't efficient though unless you use some spamming software. It it too hard to get away with posting a link inside a post when you have no history with the forum - it will just get deleted.

You are best to look at just making forum profiles on the boards that keeps them public. Have a look at a site such as Alexa or The largest Message Boards and Forums on the web! and go through the big forums and find ones that have public viewable profiles. The quickest way to do this is by going to the main page of the forum and clicking a random username. If you can view the forum then make your account, enter in your link to the signature and sometimes the About Me/Bio section and move onto the next one. Make sure the anchor text is for a keyword you are trying to rank well for.

The popular boards will index your link very quickly. Most forum systems use BB code so if you aren't sure about that then a quick Google will clear up how to post a link. it is usually in the form of: [url =""]anchor text[/url] (remove space before the = )

You can do it many forums profile section and you can use some software to make it easier. Finding solid backlinks IS a time consuming process.

here are the basics to finding links:

site:.edu "wordpress"
site:.edu "vbulletin"

That will find wordpress and vbulletin type .edu links.

site:.gov "wordpress"
site:.gov "vbulletin"

That will find wordpress and vbulletin type .gov links.

etc..

Take a list of those sites and use them to create you some links back to your site.

If you outsource your links always ensure that you receive a link of every page that you link is on... in case you are added to a page with 100 other links (effectively spam) that will be removed.

Totally agreed! That's why some time profile link works better, they only contain your own link...

I know they are PR0 or N/A, but the domain authority still works!
