Default Site Jumped UP In The SERPS

I have completely changed the theme of my site to another wordpress theme and made some huge changes, but none to the content, or tags. I just finished a 16 hour workload to get most of the task completed and noticed that I jumped up to #2 for the keyword I have been targeting! I was at number 4 yesterday and have been there for a couple of weeks. Would this have anything to do with the changes made, or is it just coincidence? Either way, I'll take it

it really depends on the themes

some badly designed themes dont have great seo

so moving from a bad seo theme to a good one might help

some themes do their banner headers bad

also, simply putting an alt tag in the top left logo really helps a lot - lots of themes dont do that

Peace :)

Yeah - if you didn't change the KWs, titles or text - I really think it was more of coincedence than anything. but then again - I don't know that much about WP.

Where you possibly logged in to your gmail account when you checked your rankings?

Sounds more like some backlinks were discovered or perhaps the other sites above you had links disappear on them. Very few things move that fast, unless you've got a great super fast indexing trick going on. I know some people say they get indexed and ranked in less than a day, but I've have not found this to be the case for the more casual SEOer.

What do you mean? If you read my post, I jumped up to #2 from #4. If that is wrong, then the hell with what's right
