So I was trying to work through some issues on my site yesterday (The 20th). I go to the googe and search site:http://mysite.com It pulls up the list and check the cache for the homepage. It says it was cached on the 12th and shows an old version of my blog homepage. I run the same search today (the 21st) and the date on the Google cached version of the page is the 16th!! Checked on 20th ----shows----> 12th Checked on 21st ----shows----> 16th That makes no sense. If Google had cached the homepage on the 16th, then why, when I checked on the 20th, would it show a version cached on the 12th? Why wouldn't it pull the version supposedly 'already' cached on the 16th? |

Sure, it makes perfect sense... you need more links pointing to your site from other sites that have heaps of links pointing to their sites, more the merrier. Consider each link pointing to your site as a request to PING your site for content changes, less there are, the less often it's gonna visit your site. |
