Default Interesting, yet strange and fustrating.

I've found that various keywords rank differently if placed in different orders. An example of this would be like "square blue widgets", "widgets blue square", blue square widgets" and "blue widgets square".

That kind of sucks as they would all contain my keywords but because they are in different orders I rank all over the place. Any suggestions as to fixing this so I rank well on all the different orders of keywords?

Build backlinks to your site using the different versions of your keywords. You could probably have internal pages optimized for the different keywords as well.

That begs the question of should I continue to fight for my main keywords that are generating the most amount of money for my site or start building for different versions of the keywords that are not searched as often to cover more ground. I'm fortunate enough to have a lot of time to do both but really what would be the best route for my situation. I also started a back linking campaign that focuses only on linking my inner pages to get more double listings. Again, I'd like to find the best use of my time to get the results that I want which is to dominate the first pages for any given keyword combination.
