Hello Warriors, I need to check with you today about using RSS feeds for SEO purposes.. I started using RSS lately, and I read many opposite comments and opinions about them here.. Some warriors are saying RSS is an excellent way to promote your content and backlinks in the SEs, some other warriors are saying RSS is a waste of time, and from my side, I have got funny findings, as my SE ranking became worse since I started to use RSS marketing (most probably these bad results are related to something else, but at least RSS didn't help to limit the harm) What do you think? I'll appreciate sharing your experience about this type of marketing as it is a real time consumer and if not many of you are seeing a real boost with it, I think it's better not to bother with it anymore.. And if any of you seeing good results with it, let's know the best practice to use it effectively. |

I've experimented with it. The more your feeds get pulled, the more traffic. Takes time and you gotta have feeds people want. SEs like it -- easy to spider. Feedburner helps... a lot.

| Silly question, but how can you get your feeds pulled in more? or more people to pull your feeds?

It's useful only for quick indexing. Besides that, I've never seen any increase in my rankings just from submitting my RSS feeds. Lately I've been using RSS Marketing just to get my "Angela and Paul links" indexed fast.

Almost everyone isn't using RSS properly which is why they don't see the results from it. Is your main site feed on an indexed, Dofollow feed aggregator site or on a noIndex, nofollow feed agg site? Are you ONLY submitting main site feeds? Are you merging your feeds? Are you linking to your DoFollow feeds hosted with your dofollow do index rss aggregator of choice? That's just PART of what people are missing out on. Most just use it to get sites indexed, which is gonna happen eventually with pinging. Pinging your feed urls has limited value as well since you don't get anything seperate added to the indices, just an updated, added reference |
