Google hates my main site (PR dropped and doesnt go up anymore)

My main site/blog, i have it for 3 or so years already.

I remember i already had it at PR3 or PR4 once, but then i had a phase where i didnt care about the site anymore, i didn't add content and was lazy.

Now, my site is still indexed, actually with 17.000+ pages, its a blog + forum, and i am actually also ranking very well in Google for some keywords.

But my PR has dropped to ZERO for some time already, i just checked on backlink watch, i have 200 or so backlinks...but PR0.

What can i do?

(I also remember that some time ago when i was playing with adsense i had trouble with adsense displaying on my site)

I usually don't care too much about PR, i dont even SEE it since i dont have the Google Toolbar active, except when i check it on some site.....but it still irks me to see PR0. It's a very high quality blog..but for some reason Google doesn't like it at least in terms of PR.

If your keywords still rank in top positions, then there's no need to worry about even if you PR drops.. It's the keyword rankings that make money for you, not the PR.. PR helps in ranking keywords but it is not the only factor in SERPS..

Presumably you have a very large number of outgoing links. Are they 'nofollow' links?

Many sites this year noticed drops in PR, mostly because of a change in the Google algorithm.

PR is solely related to inbound links, and Google's been getting fussier and fussier as to the type of links it counts.

Best thing to do is to just start building more backlinks. 200 links is way too few. From my experience, it takes 1500 odd forum post links to get a PR2.. very approximately of course...

Nope, on my forum/blog i have actually DoFollow..yes it attracts spammers, but i can still filter them out.

You suggesting that my PR juice leaks out and i should make them nofollow?

To get good PR, you have to get backlinks your niche related sites. As well as, If you can get backlinks from the pages which have high PR & less outbound links, you will get good PR in future PR updates.
So, keep on getting backlinks........

There are like 100s of different factors being used in Google algorithm and PR is just one of them and affects only about 20 pct of how ranking is calculated in Google search engine.

Don't bother much about PR. It will not give you much benefit. Just concentrate on your website ranking.

The strict published method of calculating Page Rank looks at incoming links only. However, too many outgoing links does sometimes seem to cause problems. Why not try it and see what happens?
