|  I hit number 1, 2 or 3 in google just about every time
The problem is that it's only when searched in "quotes". I need some advise please, anyone that can shed some lite. I'm currently targeting a great keypharse (at least I think so) that receives about 400 searches per day. My site ranks #1 for that phrase when searched in quotes but #365 when searched without quotes. What is google saying about my site by ranking it in such a manner? I mean, why do I rank so high when searched in quotes but so low when searched without quotes? I understand that the solution will more than likely be to get more backlinks but I want to know what story this situation is telling about my site. |

I would guess that your onsite SEO is good but you're offsite SEO is bad. If I'm not mistaken "with quotes" will give you a better idea of pages that SEO'd for a keyword as far as onsite elements go but you're offsite SEO isn't strong enough to cut through the other 364 sites. Get more backlinks? |

I have noticed most people teaching seo and keyword research either know very little about the topic or are just spreading wrong methods intentionally. I try to get most of my info right from the engines mouth but I also like to here what others have to say, just to see if there are other views some I can judge accordingly. Quote search means that you are searching for a keyphrase all in one phrase. It is always certain that you will get less results for quote search compared to search without quote. You should not worry about this much and start targeting other keywords and try to get your website ranked with it. |
