Default Concerned By Adsense Change.

As anyone on warrior forum noticed a significant change in their adsense earnings over the last week?

My CTR has dropped big time.

I see they've made a change recently on our Adsense reports from 'Todays Earnings' to 'Today's estimated earnings' and just wonder if it as affected the program in anyway..

To give you an idea of the change in stats:
The first 6 days of Dec:-
*edited*
This has been typical of my adsense earnings down the years.
I first started building adsense sites in 2005 (I've been concentrating the last few months on Xfactors Adsense method).

But The last 6 days (not including today)
*edited*

And today so far, my ctr sits at 4%

My best Xfactor site was earning a $1 a day for the first month and close to $2 a day for the last few months.
Now:
Dec 11, $0.00
Dec 12, $0.00
Dec 13, $0.00
Dec 14, $0.63
Dec 15, $0.25
Dec 16, $0.00

My sites have the same rankings in the search engines and impressions are consistent. But CTR has just bombed!

Sure i expect bad days now and again with adsense. But i've never noticed a consistant CTR drop like i have now.

I would like to know if anyone else has experienced a change to their adsense earnings. Any ideas i can try to improve things again?

I think i'll try recreating the ads and channels again.

Going to concentrate on backlinks, instead of new sites too for the immediate future.

Welcome any comments.

Got this email today:

Quote:
As a publisher using link units on your pages, we're writing to let you know about a recently resolved reporting issue that affected your account.

We discovered an issue with the way earnings from link units were being shown in publisher accounts, which resulted in some of your ad unit earnings being incorrectly attributed to link units instead. However, this was only a reporting display issue and so your overall earnings and payments were not affected. We've resolved the issue, and as a result, you may now notice slight differences when you look at reports for previous months. Specifically, when you generate separate reports for link units and ad units, you may see that earnings from link units on a particular day have decreased, but that the ad unit earnings for the same day have increased by the same amount.

Again, please be assured that your aggregate earnings and payments were unaffected, so you've been credited for all valid clicks and impressions. In addition, this issue has not affected your ad performance in any way.

Your reports will now accurately reflect your earnings from link units and ad units -- we apologize for the inconvenience and any confusion caused.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Thanks for your reply GeorgR.

Is that email from the Adsense Newsletter? The last one i received was 9 days ago.

I'm hoping it is just a reporting issue thats affected my account so dramatically.

Have you noticed such a dramatic change with your own account?

Yes. One of my sites that usually has a really high click thru has been at about 2-3% for days. My adsense income for the last few days has been the lowest its ever been since I put the sites up. :-(

I have noticed a decrease in earnings per click, but not click through rate. While I am still earning decent, it has taken a dip over the last 2 weeks or so.

I have noticed the same thing.

HeDir.com ranks #1 or #2 for "human edited directory"

DebtPlan.org ranks #3 for "debt consolidation california"

It's December. This month is always a bit of a roller coaster. A few days you might be hurting, and the next you're flying above the world.

And with the changes in the new year, it may be good or bad for you.

No need to worry my friends. It's Christmas time (for those who celebrate it) enjoy this time of year and embrace the next.

-Peace

Same here too as my earnings have dropped over the last few days. But I noticed something different in the reporting. When I try to view the statistics it will now only show the no. of impressions (on your channels) when you have clicks registered for each of your channels. If you have impressions without any hits, Google does not display anymore - only showing total impressions without giving a clue where they came from. Is everyone seeing this change too?

How are the ads on your site? Because its December, money allocated for ads may not be all that great, so you may be getting irrelevant or low paying ads as a result.

my earnings dropped since getting that e-mail about the link units. They said it wouldn't affect anything except for the reports but I think they're lying.

Adsense never discloses how much of commission they take on ad sales and even though your ecpm may be like $10 they could take an 80% commission meaning they take $8.00. It's not unheard of for ad systems to take more than 50% commission.

I think they increased their commission since their expanding now into so many markets and they don't have an increased cash flow so they need to get investment money somewhere - so they turn to adsense. They did it last year when their profits didn't meet the expected quarter earnings (recession).

Haven't noticed anything adverse at all. My CTR is hovering around 14.77%, which is pretty typical.

However, I've noticed that my earnings have taken a pretty big dip over the last couple of weeks. The click values are down some.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I'm not sure if it is the issue in the email that GeorgR posted. Because it says the problem has been resolved. Well, i'm still having the same issue with my adsense account. The CTR today and yesterday has been around 4%.

Hope we all see an improvement to our accounts again, soon.

Happy Christmas All!

I found this to be true at this time of year. My Adsense Earnings seem to go down big time in Decemebr around Christmas. But then pickup in January.
So enjoy the Holidays and let things fall where they may fall !!

I was earning about $8-10 a day for a particular site I run. For the past month, it's dropped down to $3-4 a day. I'm really hoping it's true that things will pick back up in Jan.

Another thing to note is that people are only going to post here if they've had a bad couple weeks of earnings. Those who have seen an increase in earnings won't likely post. As for me my earnings have been steady, but I have had some decent days with 3-6 times the amount of earnings I'd normally get so I'm happy with that.

My adsense CTR is tumbled to it's lowest and the payouts are very much inconsistent to say the least.

I also got the email about the corrective actions they have just found out, which to me have a something to do with what they must be doing. I just don't know.

And the payouts fluctuate too much and it seems that the ads showing are changing dramatically per period or whatever algos are doing.

Thanks
Oling

Good point Euhlir. I can say my CTR and earnings haven't really changed (actually climbing slowly), still have the normal up and down in earnings day to day but still averaging about the same.
