SEO Surprise !!

Hi,

I used to worry about SEO. So I'm learning and drawing a little encouragement from this...

I have a site, a year old, never drove any traffic to it and it has Zero backlinks. It comprises a sales page and 5 other pages...Contact, Disclaimer and such, all indexed by Google though I never bookmarked or did anything like that. I built it, uploaded it and then I lost interest. Don't ask...!

I checked today and it ranks No. 4 on Page 1 Google (immediately below ezinearticles) for a 2-word keyphrase with over 4 million competition, broad match. The keyphrase is in the url and appears several times on the sales page and gets searched for 210 times a month according to the Google adwords tool. It's an internet marketing keyword and a late byuing cycle one at that.

That's great Tom it does happen.

I too have a wp blog with no backlinks, comments etc..
I have'nt touched it since Aug; still get 200 visitors a month. Although it's not high on google however it is in a very very, competitive big market.

So you've done better than me.

Hi Marko,

I'm not sure it's luck

I did a couple of things right SEO wise, but this has taught me not to worry so much about SEO.

That probably applies to you too Keren - with a big market and all.

Much respect to the SEO gurus btw.

It all comes down to doing something - e.g. putting a site up - and something will happen as a result, at least you'll learn something.

Samething which happened to me, even though mine isnt quite 200 its about 100-150... At the moment it is in postion 22 for my 3 word phrase. I should really get postion one because the traffic on that phrase is like 2k a day.
