I have been submitting loads of articles lately but not just to the top few so will they still be as good for backlinking?

Hi monitorit, Articles are a great source for backlinks for two reasons, your create the content so you can make it as relevant as needed for your marketing efforts and they not only generate links for Search engines to find your targeted web page, they also may generate direct traffic (no search engine listing required). Of course where you place those articles determine how valuable they will become. Highly trafficked websites will be much more valuable than websites with little or no traffic. If they aren't indexed then they aren't likely to give you any benefit at all. |

How long has it been? It takes time, sometimes weeks or even months to see the results of your linking. Also, and this is completely conjecture, but in my experience google will shift your site around a lot while your building backlinks. I've had sites ranked on the first page drop to the 40th page after building links. But after I stopped, it was launched up to the top 3 spots in my niche where it has since stayed for many months. |

Another thing to keep in mind when writing articles for the directory is the style of writing that you use. I generally try to answer a relatively simple, albeit common issue within the niche and then point to bigger, common problems and indicate in the resource box that they may just find the answer on the site I or in the product that I am promoting at the time. It may not help so much with the backlinks but it does generally help to increase the CTR to the sites involved and I have actually had better luck with people posting it from the article directories on other sites around the web as well. -EclecticWard- |

You have to make sure that they use do follow attribute in their links or it really is a waste of time [actually not totally a waste of time but certainly no good for your SEO] I would suggest ezinearticles. Go articles is supposed to have do follow links as well but so far my links analusis is not picking up my links at go articles You could also consider geust blogging, i.e.submitting your articles as blog posts to webmasters who allow guest posting on their blogs | |

Just writing articles and submitting it to a ton of article directories doesn't do the magic. It all depends about the quality of your articles and how many people use your article(s) (together with the resource box) to publish them on their websites that count.

They are like other backlinks with the added bonus of possibly being spread by others.

I acquire all my backlinks through articles (using article Spinning/submission services), just be sure that you are not submitting duplicate content as the links will be de-valued As a result, I have many Web Pages on the first page of Google , Yahoo and Bing |
