Default Google Cheating Us Out of Adsense Clicks?

Here's somethng I know most people don't do. Install heatmaps on your website. Anyhow I have one on mine for quite a while now but never looked at it very much. Today I went back through all the logs for each day. On days that there is obvious activity on my ad's, Google has not credited nor acknowledged any of the the clicks.

I'm hoping there's a good explanation?

I've been using Adsense since 2003. In that time my click throughs have been pretty consistent day to day.

I can track ups and downs by day, hour, etc. But I've not come across any evidence that would suggest a pattern of Shaving.

There really is no way to verify what you claim ... but at the same time there is little reason for Google to shave because all they have to do is apply a lower score to your account and you get pennies (or less) per click.

With millions of accounts it would seem to be a whole lot easier to penalize an account than to try and set up some kind of software to arbitrarily shave clicks.

do you really think Google needs to shave clicks? Do you think it would even be worth risking to them?

absolutely not, they aren't some small crap company who needs to do that. I'm sure whatever it is it has nothing to do with them cheating you out of clicks.

I can see what the exit links are on my sites, so I know what url was clicked. I've had quite a few instance where there was a click, but it did not register in my adsense account. It's rare, but has happened more times than I can care to count.

Adsense does cancel/void any clicks that pop up as invalid/fraud and that could be for any reason in order to protect its advertisers. They aren't going to risk a major law suit that would be millions, maybe billions and defile their name because they want to steal 25 cents from you.

yeah, I can see clickbombs being fraudulent, but i've had lots of single clicks not get counted (from several different countries). However, I've also read on the forums that if the visitor hits back on the browser pretty quickly won't credit that click...

As previously mentioned, google isn't going to risk a huge lawsuit so I'm pretty sure their reasons are valid.

I don't think a multi-billion dollar company would want to risk any bad publicity. I'd be more worried about affiliate marketers not paying you the commissions you are owed, which I'm sure people here will have numerous stories to tell about them!
