Difference between alt and title tags

Hi,
Is there any difference between using alt and title tags in img tag in seo point of view?Do we need to use both these tags?

eg:
<img src="abc.jpg" title="abc" alt="abc">

It is always worthwhile using a keyword formatted alt tag.
