I think most of us will agree that page rank has little to nothing to do with SE ranking so what benefits if any do you think page rank has? I'll start... page rank is essentially a popularity score, so... Is a site with a higher page rank considered to be popular and therefor more relevant or valuable and does it receive more attention from google bots? Is it crawled more often or deeper? Dose page rank effect the total number of pages indexed by google? (I read this rumor somewhere) While page rank may not effect SE rankings directly, does it boost overall site authority which in turn does effect some SE rankings? The umbrella effect of sites with high PR (authority) having a wider reach when it comes to long-tail SE rankings... example, youtube videos rank very well in long-tail searches based on the authority of youtube alone. who's next? |

Main benefit of Page Rank would be the "link juice" you can spread to your other sites (assuming different IP's etc.) I would also think...that EVERYTHING else being equal between 2 sites, the higher PR would be higher in the SERPS...but, that's pretty hard to test...and is just an opinion...pretty hard to get EVERYTHING else equal! :-) |

| PR is a big advantage for directories if only for the perception that the customer has.

The link juice is used to get other sites to rank higher in the SERPS. A higher PR link can be considered a higher quality link...so that "link juice" has a bigger impact on the site that it's linking to...with re: to SEO |

Primary benefit is it will be easier to get your other pages ranked higher and faster by Google. Other than that not much. I can outrank sites with history and PR with a brand spanking new website that's highly optimized so it's not the be all - end all of serps. |

so what we have so far is that the PR of a page does little to nothing to help that pages SE rankings ...but... backlinks from a page with PR will help the recipient pages rank higher. Ok... that falls in line with the quality backlinks theory or backlinks from trusted / authority sites. |

| PR is like the mark that Google gives you, and I only see it helpful in link swap.

Who knows how PR is used in the Google algorithm? This is what I believe: A higher PR site is more authoritative and thus easier to rank higher in the SERPs (all other things being equal). High PR backlinks confer more authority to your site. A few high PR links are more powerful than hundreds of low PR links. There is PR, and there is relevancy. You need both. Having a high PR site is useless if your off-page relevancy is not targeted. I've outranked many high PR pages which are largely irrelevant in terms of backlinks/off-page relevancy. That said, only Google knows how the PageRank algorithm works. So your guess is as good as mine. |

Benefit of PageRang for me is that the website will contain much more search engine spider revisit which is very useful to get your website indexed. Only when your webpage is indexed than u can attract organic search engine traffic |

I noticed by accident the other day that my author bio in EZA seems to have an individual PR which surprised me. Is this a good thing because I thought that PR means very little these days? If it is a good thing, how would be the best way to leverage off it please? |
