Tons of traffic with unusually low page impressions?

I have several sites. Usually the page impressions are somewhere in the ball park as the number of visitors for that day. However, my one site gets 500-600 visitors daily but only 50-100 page impressions. This seems abnormal to me. Does anyone know possible reasons for this?

How are you measuring visitors?

Compare Google Webmaster, Awstats, and Google Analytics to see if you are getting real unique visitors or just bot traffic and "hits".

Maybe the bounce rate is high, meaning the content that these visitors are looking for is not what your websites contain.. Try analyzing your website stats using Google Analytics, you can have an idea of the problem eventually, I guess..

Seems to me that traffic from social websites such as Stumbleupon and also traffic from Google images seem to make for lower impressions. Just my observation.... YMMV.

I will look at other stat tools to see if I can figure things out.

My bounce rate is pretty high lately. I'll have to work on that.

Good to know about the social networking sites and google images.
