Hello fellow Warriors, Just wanted to get your opinion. I was thinking of creating a whole bunch of niche sites populated with Adsense. For the fact that I wanted to make more than a handful of sites, I thought that buying .info domains would be more practical in the sense of maintaining an affordable budget based on the number of domains I would purchase. With that in hand, do you feel that .info domains have just as good of a chance of making money (with Adsense) as a .com, .net or .org? I've read a lot of mixed feelings in the past... but having come across a few .info domains with half decent PR's, I thought it could possibly be a worthy investment. In turn, if I worked on SEO, backlinking, blog comments, etc. could I realistically boost a .info domain in ranking to get enough traffic to make a profit? Would there be any sort of obstacles that I would be confronted with? I believe I read somewhere that if you had two comparable sites (one a .info... and the other a .com), the .com would come out on top in Google ranking. Is that true? Looking forward to all of your input. Garryism... |

They've always ranked just fine for me. Focus on backlinks and content, that's what matters.

| Thanks! I've mostly purchased .com domains... but after coming across a .info blog with a PR3, I was interested in finding out how profitable I could make a .info myself. I also read that another Warrior had a .info that was getting approximately 1K unique visitors a day. |

Websites get ranked, not domain names. Ever do a search for google pagerank? #1 love from google is a dot info. It rules for that niche. Must drive the dot commers crazy. Paul |

My .info domains always rank, too. You just have to make sure your site is of good quality, with unique content. |

.info and .com has a similar traffic.. i have seen some site with .info with high rank.. well all it depends is how u manage your site and content is the king plus the SEO ... the site name matters for some extent but not forever.. once ppl know your content .. you will surely get visitors no matter what..

Just wanted to ask if there was a considerable difference in time between a .info and .com ranking. If I had two similar blogs with great content and good seo... along with the same amount of backlinks, etc. would the .com still rank faster? | |||

| I did something similar a while back. The one thing that I will say is that it does take around a month or so for the (.info) to rank on that first page! The (.com/.net's) seem to be able to develop those rankings a little quicker, but they still come anyway for the (.info)! Strangely, Bing seem to pay no such advantage for any TLD, it seems to be all about the backlinks with them.

I prefer .com than .info. High rankings in SERP and quality Backlinks are mostly from .com.
