Do shopping sites such as amazon write there own product descriptions?

Does shopping sites such as amazon write there own descriptions of products?

I really thought they would have copy pasted the manufacturer descriptions but I just did a search on something as a test and the different shopping sites all have different descriptions (or at least as far as I can tell I only checked maybe 5 or 6 on the first page).

I was hoping they would have the same and therefore it would be ok for me to do the same and copy/paste product descriptions on my adsense sites.

ya no... they all employ their own inhouse copywriters. They want their ad (even if it's for the same product) to sound better than their competitions ad.
