Social Bookmarking Doubt

This might be a stupid question but well I have to ask.


I have heard social bookmarking your articles in article directories will help improve the visitors you get from those articles. I am wondering, we submit the articles to lot of directories. So are we supposed to bookmark the articles in all directories. Wont those sites suspend your account. So is there an alternative for this. I mean, I doubt I can write an edited article for each directory I submit. Lol

Personally, I think bookmarking is going only provide very limited helpful results. I think all too often people focus on getting first time visitors, rather than building user retention. User retention IS the #1 way to build traffic.

Here's how I do it...

I submit the articles to multiple directories but I would only then bookmark a few .. mainly the big ones like EzineArticles.com, Buzzle.com etc

I would also make sure to have an alternative version on my own site and bookmark that one too.

You don't need to bookmark every single directory you submit to - especially if it's just going to be the same content on all the sites.

This is a dead giveaway and you might get penalized.

So in a nutshell your social bookmarking strategy should be to act as a normal person and bookmark all of your favorite sites you find and then systematically also bookmark your own sites.

Never bookmark the same site in two different bookmarking sites at the same time and always make sure you enter your tags and your title correctly when you bookmark your sites.The search engines are looking for the tags you have on your bookmarks and this strategy can bring you tons of traffic if you are patient and do things right.

yes, this is close to the exact same thing i do
but also if u do social bookmarking correctly, it can bring u tons of traffic

When I make the alternate version should I change the tile too. I mean sometimes when we are reviewing some product it will be quite hard.
