I've been getting trackbacks on my wordpress blog and I wonder if I should approve them. If I don't, they become one way backlinks, if I do then it becomes two way which is not as good [I heard]. Can someone explain more about the pros and cons of approving trackbacks? Thanks! Nicholas C. |

the sad thing is, this makes "legit" trackbacks totally worthless if you simply throw all in the spam folder. Once a good idea, a legit trackback was always coming from a site LINKING TO YOU. I am aware that spam is a problem. Anyway, keep in mind that a related outgoing link (even if it were only one-way) is beneficial for SEO too. Simply disabling all trackbacks is taking away a feature from wordpress which is actually good. |

If your blog is more or less a social exercise in your niche and the trackbacks you're getting are from legit people in your niche or related niches, leave them, they have social value and as reciprocal links go, they're perfectly natural and acceptable. Just delete or spam flag ones from scrapper sites and the like. If you're using the blog as a content system for a niche marketing site, turn them off. 99.94% of them will be spam in this case. |

Actually 2 ways are very good for you- especially if the content is good... And consistent with your content... And if the site you are linking out to has a good page rank, then EVEN better... Some people have automatic trackbacks on. For the sole purpose, of having incoming and outgoing links... Make sure it's not SPAM- That it's congruent And if their Pagerank is good then Great! You don't wanna have more than 150 outgoing links- But Outgoing Links are GRRRRRRRRRR8 for SEO... And if you believe in the Law of reciprocity, eventually people will just link to your site just cuz they know you are a Good Guy bro... So Whatever decision you make is yours and yours alone- But Good Luck and Keep doing your marketing thing! :-) |

Hey guys, thanks for your inputs. All my pingbacks and comments come from an automated link building tool, and those pingbacks and comments are from spun material. I have 100s of these in each blog post, and I was wondering if I should delete them? They aren't spam but they have similar content, and I think 100's of outgoing links is bad?

I have a lot of pingbacks and trackbacks from blogs related to mine. I get these trackbacks because I joined an article distribution network and bloggers get/posted my articles on their site, then I get pingbacks and trackbacks. Would it be good to approved them? They really comes from those blogs that posted my articles that I submitted for distribution. These blogs are newly setup blogs, I think as they don't have any page rank and not much contents to it.
