Has anyone had solid experience with Link Wheels ? We have only ever played with blog commenting and profile building. I have hear different results from Link Wheels but don't want to jump in with two feet and then regret it when our sites get de-indexed ! Any advice would be grateful. Thanks |

If you do them properly they work fantastically because you can get several of the top 10 in google, but they take forever. I still do them though -sigh-. Depending on the keyword, I make about 180 per wheel per month

Thanks....people talk of leaving the wheel open rather than closed. What is this and how does that work ? By not making the link reciprocal ?

Is a link wheel these days still fine if it's just a bunch of web 2.0s pointing back to your site? What I've been doing so far is I'll create anywhere from 3-5 web 2.0s on the niche I'm working in. This doesn't seem like very many but I work to put unique content on EACH of them a couple times per week. After this I ping each site, social bookmark them, and submit their RSS feeds to several different sites. Then once I've got some unique conent built up I begin to drop a link with each post. The idea is that I'm trying to, over time, build a few highly relevant/important sites to build links from in the long term. |

The link wheel I use involves 10 blogs sites, with a unique post on each site for each keyword. I do 3 keywords per niche, or 10,000 searches

Do you submit comments to create the backlink on these blogs ? If you put keywords and URLs in the comment, surely akismet frowns upon this ?

Once you've got each of your web 2.0 spokes, don't you have to spend ages getting them to rank well in the SERPs. Aren't you just multiplying your workload by 6. .?

No, I submit the posts to rss feeds so they get a ton of backlinks, takes me 5 minutes per wheel. Also use Bookmarking demon, so all told an extra 10 minutes per wheel.

Yes, $180 per link wheel per month. Sorry, I missed the '$' (the most important key :-p)

![]() So you have about 30 unique posts per niche or 10 unique posts per keyword? So three posts per blog site.. do you create a unique account for each keyword or simply have three posts under the same account- all targeting the different kw? Do you use article directories as well and have them point toward your 2.0 sites? Only ask cause I'm in the process of constructing my first few..

linkwheel is still effective, if you are doing it correctly. one mistake people always made is: they just post one or two pieces of content, then never update. a regularly updated link wheel is always getting better result in our testing. david |

| I totally agree with this. Updating your linkwheels with fresh content is one of the things most people don't get. If you update your linkwheels you will always get better results as they will grow stronger.

I create one blog per niche and create a new post for each keyword. Then, every 2 weeks or so, I add another post with another keyword. So, 10 unique posts per keyword, 30 per niche.

A link wheel by itself is not really going to do too much more for your site than an ordinary web 2.0 property would in the first place. You need to treat the properties of the wheel like their very own website. By themselves the properties should hold their own in the SERPs. You want a range of quality on-topic content as well as a range of links to other authority sites on the subject. You don't want to give Google any clue that the sites were made just to promote your money site. When you build normal links to your money site, give the same courtesy to your link wheel properties. If you can get your link wheel properties to a PR5 then you have a very powerful place to put your links whenever you like. |

Now.. try promoting your pages within the property itself to make it stronger. For example.. comment on other squidoos to get link juice to your profile page which will then transfer it to your lenses!

Link Wheels are a very effective SEM technique. But ultimately it depends on how they are used because there are many different techniques. Our latest technique which has been working great is as follows: ![]() Note. This is our silver package, and we also include a you tube video and use it throughout the wheel. Regards, David Pagotto |
