Hi, I have added surefirewealth's RSS Feed code to my blog and I now have over 60 articles on my blog. I would like to know if this would help in search engine ranking ? Are these articles ok or is it necessary for me to have my own placed on my blog? Will I get back-links from these articles. Please do let me know as I'm confused. How long does it normally take for a website/blog to get indexed ? How do I know how many visitors I am getting to my blog? I have created my blog and submitted the same to the search engine directories about 25 days back. Awaiting a reply. |

Adding articles using RSS feed is good because it puts new material on your website frequently without having to write it yourself. It is usually good to write some information of your own, so that you will have unique content. You could write an article, or you could comment on some of the rss feed articles. You do not get back links from rss feed articles. In fact, when you use someone else's article, you are usually providing a back link to their article. The back link is located in the author's box. You must leave the link in, or you will be breaking the requirement for using the article. Usually a blog will be indexed in 2-3 days, often the same day. To find out if your blog is indexed, do a search in Google for the name of your website. If your website shows up (it does not matter on what page), then your website is indexed. Getting indexed is different from appearing on the first page of Google or another search engine. To appear on the first page, you must be selected by the search engine to be a better fit than other websites for the particular keyword. You could be number 1 for one key word, and number 85 for another keyword. You want to know how much traffic your blog is getting. If you are using Wordpress.com, you can learn simply by going to the blog dashboard, and it will be posted. If you have your own blog, you can install a free simple plugin called wordpress.com stats. Submitting your website to directories is a good start, but in order to rank well in search engines, you need links - lots of links to all kinds of web sites. Do a search for "linkbuilding" on the Warrior Forum to learn more. Best of luck with your website! Dee Ross |

Some RSS Feed directory offers some back links to your site like bloglines.
