Default Possibly stupid ezine question from newbie lurker

First, I want to say I have been lurking here for awhile and all you veteran IM'ers are very helpful. It is refreshing!

Now on to my dumb question.

My husband wrote his first ezine article the other day and it went straight to page 2 of google, stayed there for a few days and then disappeared like tuna in a house full of cats. What happened?

Thanks!

Tuna in a house full of cats? LoL I love that. Well I'm an expert author with Ezine regarding financial advice. Ive noticed that articles will get initial play so to speak and be listed very high, then kind of die off, its kinda like a new movie..everybody is excited at first then it just fizzles out. If your husband put good tag or keywords with his article, people will still be able to find it. Don't worry its still there. Keep placing new articles...the main thing is to build up a following! ;-)

He needs to build some backlinks to it If an article appears on page 1 or 2 in Google as soon as it's indexed, it's very good news - it means with some backlinking, it has a very good chance of staying there and maybe even climbing all the way to the top with enough effort The 'freshness' factor is what puts it high up, backlinking is what will keep it there.

Thanks and sorry for posting in the wrong place. I figured that was what happened but he was frustrated and so I thought I would ask.

Thats a very good start at the very least.
Tell him to keep working at it! That is perfectly normal, nothing to worry about (provided you recognise your job does not end after the articles are written )
