Looks good. I would change the color of the 160 x 600 to all black, so more attention
is drawn to the blue links in the large rectangle at the top left of the page. You will
earn more $$

Just a suggestion, nothing more.

I use the same template for HTMl sites and it works well.

I would also change the side colors to all black text, on my site with this template the side ad block has a higer CTR then the top which is totally against conventional adsense thinking?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the positive comments. It feels good coming for fellow warriors.
I'll take your advice and change the side bar to all black and see what happens.
I have been busy submitting articles to ezines and directories so this is the first change I've had to respond to your comments.

Thanks again,
Tim

The layout looks good but, no offense, the copy is pretty trite and poorly written. If you're only trying to bring in traffic for the links, it should work well. If you're actually trying to offer important information, I think the writing (and research) needs an upgrade.

The layout looks great. I think your copy could at the very least be organized a little better, i.e. start out with an intro then talk about the types of treatment rather than burying the treatment in the 3rd paragraph. The last paragraph doesn't belong on the page because it talks about prevention and you're talking about treatment. IMHO

If you just created that site, then it is in trouble with duplicate content issues. I checked 2 of your pages and the content was duplicated from another site. In almost all cases, duplicated content will be penalized with respect to rankings in search engines.

I would not worry to much about duplicate content for the site, i have many sites with un altered PLR that bring in good google traffic. Plus if you are driving traffic with article marketing then it is not really an issue.

The content seems fine to me for what is supposed to do, bring in adsense money.

Although in the medical niche you may want to add a disclaimer page.

Hi Tim,

Nice layout!

As far as the "writing advice" from natalie1 and write-stuff, I don't think they're getting the "Adsense" part of this forum board.

Great content and writing style is always better than mediocre content and writing style, but that isn't the point. The point is to convert traffic to clicks within the Terms of Service.

Really nice wordpress template

Do you have to keep the link in the footer to the niche adsense theme website?

I notice the page url is in this format

Understanding%20the%20right%20approach%20towards%2 0breast%20cancer%20treatment.html

and not

Hi Kevin,

I purchased the template from clickbank for a good price. The templates are good quality for what I paid. If you want the url to the templates, let me know.

The instructions were veg to say the least, I'm not sure if I have to leave the link in or not. I left it there just in case. Does it make a difference one way or the other? If it does, let me know. They do have a support link on their website if you are interested.

ok.. your URL is a bit long and you have some extra spaces between your url,

add a dash there and one thing, how many times that "understanding-breast-cancer-treatment" search in google per month?

I may target breast cancer treatment as the keywords instead of "understanding breast cancer treatment"

anyway it's my thought.

Hi Zoobie, Thanks for your input. You have a good point and I'll try to explain why I did it that way.

The phrase I'm trying to target is "breast cancer treatment" The word "understanding" was used to make it a more natural phrase.

The reason I put the dashes in the url was so it would be more understandable. Try sticking all the words together and you'll see what I mean. For the most part, I think people looking for this type of information will not try to remember the url, they'll just bookmark it.

The last point I'll make is that I was not trying to target the most searched for phrase, I was trying to target the least competitive phrase. I don't need a lot of traffic to this website to make money from it.

Thanks again,
Tim

When I talked about the url I was speaking from an SEO perspective. The URL including 20% in it is less SEO friendly than the latter url with just the dashes.

The link to the owner's site don't matter too much, (unless you're hung up on page rank then it would mean leaking page rank from every page on your site as the link is in the footer.)

How do you get the links in the menu for the site? Is it an include file or something?

Kevin.

Hi Kevin, That's a good point. I don't want my page rank to be shared with an other site so I'll look into that.

The 20% in the url I assume is because of the link at the bottom of my home page. I'm not sure why its in there if its not because of that.

If anyone here can answer that for me, I'd appreciate it.

The website template is an html file and the links in the menu are already there, I just changed them to the title of each page.

Hi Kevin, I asked the the person I purchased the wordpress templates from if I could take the link out of the footer and here is his reply:

Sure. No problem. I think you will find the link in footer.php.

The WordPress team recommends/requests you leave a link to WordPress.
But, that is not required and is up to you as well.

Have a great day, and thanks for your purchase.

Regards,
Mark

I made 19 cents yesterday (one click) from my "understanding breast cancer treatment" website and I made $1.96 (two clicks) from the blog on my travel website. Maybe I should concentrate on the travel niche instead of the medical niche.

you need to make sure that your links are working, which they're not.

plus you dont create page links like this

"some keyword phrase to another page.html"

you do it like this

"some-keyword-phrase-to-another-page.html"

replace spaces with hyphens.

Well, the template is clean and I like that. But from my perspective I think the coloring is not so attractive. I only say that as I am a woman and I would expect your site to mainly attract women, so you might want to consider a softer color palette.

I also agree with others - the copy is bad. I would recommend you go through each article and at least add in missing prepositions and articles (? many years since English class, I forget the terms). A rewrite would be better, but would take alot longer so maybe just clean things up a bit.

OK, I took your advice and took the spaces out of the url
and put caps in where they should be.

I'm in the process of rewriting all my articles so that should
make things better, I hope. Any writers out there want to
help me out!

I'm not sure what colors I should change, it looks good to me
the way it is but what do I know...I'm a man.

Thanks everyone for all the advice and please keep it coming.

Hi, Tim. Looks like your links are working now. It's not an SEO issue, but your About page talks about wordpress, something irrelevant to your visitors. Instead you might want to make a statement about "Your Site Name" is offered as a public service and shouldn't be used in lieu of consultation with a physician, blah, blah.

You have a heading up in the banner, but repeat that same heading below it in the page. I'd suggest that you make this second heading different. Make it a page heading for each individual page. Also, you should consider adding meta tags for description and keywords, customized for each page.

Good luck with it. - Russ

I tried your links from the "about" page and got 404 error pages. I was using Google chrome browser, if that makes any difference.
Plus I also got a page about WP themes on your about page.

Tim,

There is a good WP plugin you can add for SEo. It's called all-in-one-seo.

Also, you may want to shorten your urls on pages to just the keywords. You are using the whole title, but you could shorten. I'm not an expert here so maybe someone else can chime in, but I think a shorter, keyword file is better for SEO.

Also, I would change the adsense in your sidebar to blue links like you have above the post. Black doesn't look much like a link and your adsense clickers are usually less internet-savvy (they expect links to be blue).

I would not be putting all my eggs into the Adsense basket as they can close you down at the drop of a hat without any reason whatsoever. Just a warning as others have posted of their experience in other threads.

Hi Norma,

That thought has crossed my mind a few times
so I'll not put all my eggs into one basket.

When I get good at building websites I'll join Yahoo
and MSN and build websites for their advertising programs.

Thank you for the advice,
Tim

Adsense will only close you down if you do not stick to their guidelines. Affiliate links are the way to make serious money or even create your own product.

Hi Russ,

I did a brief bio on my about page, its a start. I'll add more as I think of more stuff to say.
Please have a look at it and give me your opinion.

Hi Tim

Just a thought...

if you have a Clickbank id why not make the footer link to the template vendors site your affiliate link? I had a quick look in the CB marketplace and he pays $17.97 per sale.

Also, why not have this link open in a new browser window?

Cheers

Nice site!

I noticed you do not have a privacy policy. Google recently (February) added a privacy policy to thier TOS for Adsense.

There is a plugin for Wordpress that will generate one in seconds. I can't post links yet but if you Google "wordpress privacy plugin" you'll see it.

Good luck with your site.

Ok, can I but in for some explaining...

leaking page rank____ as the link is in the footer.

? so.. does that mean having a link in the footer is... less than advisable?

I have a link in the footer of every clients site I create for them, sorta like when you use a template from freesitetemplates.com the guy that created it has his/her link at the bottom.

is there a reason to NOT do this?
thanks

David, Every "out going link from your site regardless of where it is on your site will leak "link juice"from your page. That is not to say you never do this. There maybe times when you want to link to another site. But in the above case there is no reason to link to that site. It gives them a boost and takes away from his site. If someone feels they need to do this, then just use a "no follow " tag in the link

Hi Everyone, I have been off line for a while due to computer problems. I appreciate your advice and I'll be working on my website soon. I'll add a link to the website templates and a privacy policy at the bottom of the home page. I'm also in the process of writting new articles for this website and new websites on different types of cancer, when I get them finished I'll add them here for your advice.

Thanks again,
Tim

Now why don't I believe that, why don't you just admit that you are selling the templates!
