Alot of people know it's easy to rank a yahoo answers question because of the high PR just answer a question and build a few social bookmark links. Well I've been doing that and competitors in my niche keep reporting my questions as abuse even though they clearly do not violate any terms and are honest to god helpful answers. I spend all that time doing the bookmarking and it really works well to rank me fast but then all it takes is one competitor to click one little button on the question and yahoo deletes it wasting all my time and work to rank it. So my question is has anyone had any luck with other high PR websites like facebook or myspace (both PR 9) ranking them well for keywords by bookmaking?

Facebook and myspace do not do well with search engines. You will have better luck making sure your site is always in the Source(s) section on Yahoo Answers. This way you comply with the community guidelines. |

If you are trying to get local Geo targeted ranking, go with myspace. I have seen a lot of businesses with a myspace page in the Google top 10 box which gets a lot of traffic depending on your city.

I've done well in the local arena getting facebook fan pages to come up. This typically happens when someone searches for a business I am working for by the business name. This is good because when someone hears about business X, they google the business name, and see the homepage, as well as facebook and twitter. People will immediately see the social proof that facebook provides, that this business is not a fly by night outfit, but has great feedback from a group of customers ![]() Matt |
