So let's say I have an article optimized for a certain KW phrase. I just want to know 3 things: 1) How many anchor text phrases would you use in total when building links, 2, 3, 4? 2) Would you use the main KW phrase more often than your other alternative ones? 3) How closely related do the keywords need to be. For example if I have an article for the KW phrase "Ways to enlarge your penis" is that close enough to "ways to make your penis bigger" or would that confuse Google? thanks for your input, and please excuse my niche :P - Brandon Landis |

1) use the anchor text once no more then twice in the body of the article. 2) I don't quite understand the question 3) ha! You can do a search for your main keyword on google and see the suggested keywords on the bottom of the page to see what other keywords relate to get ideas. |

My question is not in regards to article writing, it's in regards to posting say, profile links, blog comments, forum signatures, etc. I'm asking about anchor text variation while building links to improve search engine rankings.

Hi For my websites I will optimise each page for about 4 keywords. It all actually depends on how competitive the keywords are. I will rotate the anchor text all the time so it looks more natural. I will also use the url alone to create backlinks. It all helps and your onsite optimisation should start to take over and if its done right you should start to rank for all the keywords you optimised for. Some will rank quicker then others. Yes I would build more anchor text backlinks for the keywords that im trying to rank for. However its important to use a LSI structure for your anchor text also. So as we are aware google counts backlinks as a vote for your site. In the same way an anchor text is classed as a vote for your keyword. These anchor text keywords are noted down by google and will know how other sites refer to your website. So for example. you create an anchor text backlink using the keyword lcd tv. I would suggest you use variations of the keywords even if you are not trying to optimise for that keyword specifically. So link back to your site using plasma - television - led tvs and so on. However create much more for the keywords you are trying to rank for. |
