Here's how I would advise a newbies to do forum posting:

1) Install google toolbar & DoNoFollow for Firefox
2) Assemble a gigantic list of forums and blogs that you love reading
3) Weed out everything that is no follow
4) Weed out everything without a decent page rank

This leaves me with about 5 blogs & forums that are high PR and dofollow across the board. For me they are all political as I'm a huge news junkie. I post a few messages here and there and then eventually add my .sig file with anchor text back to one of the sites I promote.

The end result is that after a few months I have dozens of PR0 links back to my site and about 20 PR4+ back to my site. There are several other outbound links on those sites so it's not the most powerful system in the world but it's something I enjoy doing and it benefits one of my niches.

Get those two toolbars installed - it still blows me away to this day how many high PR websites are just sitting their unmonitored, no captcha etc. just waiting to have your URL posted.

I don't spam, I always add value and respect other people on the forum.

I have seen and installed so many plugins but I have never heard of this. Thanks for sharing
