Default High Traffic Travel Forums That Allow Signature Links?

Hi there. Just wondering if anyone has a list (or even a few) of high traffic travel forums that allow signature links? DoFollow would be ideal, but even NoFollow is fine. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The bottom line is, just doing a zillion forum sigs is pretty useless.

Think less is more. If you make regular posts on the following 3 forums:
digitalpoint, warriorforum, netmarketingforum,
and then choose 1 or 2 in your niche, and regularly post there, you
have the makings of something that is golden and is doable.

I own a niche forum and for the last 2 days I have been getting
slammed by people registering, putting in their profile, sigs, and that's
it. The forum must have got listed on some list.

Death to the lists!

That is, the lists that have hundreds. A list of top 10 is fine.
5 is better.

Yeah - I've been doing that - maybe with a couple more SEO sites. I do article submissions as well to help me out...

I don't really want to post a signature on a zillion different forums, but rather join a few high traffic forums that are relevant to my niche, become a regular poster at them and try and build some direct traffic through my signature link. I'm doing some detective work on my own to try and find some good ones, but I figured asking the question here might save me some time

I came across this travel forum today which has high traffic, slowtalk com , maybe if you become active here it would be worth your time.
Here's another: flyertalk com

put a . before com

hope that helps

(i hope the mods don't disapprove of my post, because it has links although indirect, and i don't have 15 posts :s )

LOL, more sigs is useless? Ok... talk about misinformation based on personal feelings. Just because you don't like people signing up to forums for sigs, doesn't mean it won't work just fine.

Now having your sig on the SAME few forums many times is useless... Direct traffic through your signature will be minimal at best.

I'm going to quote bgmacaw from another thread:
Quote:
Let's say you get 100 social bookmarking links, 100 profile links and 100 dofollow blog comment links. On some sites, they will soon be buried under new content coming in and it's unlikely that Googlebot will see them again. Their score gets subtracted from your total link score. A forum webmaster starts blocking the 'bot from profile pages or deletes spammy profiles, score subtracted. Blogs get 100's of comments from male enhancement spammers, score subtracted or greatly discounted. Eventually your original score of 300 links gets reduced down to 50 or so links that actually count and most of them have low value.
Nuff said.

I have to agree with Paulgl, Stick to high traffic forums that are directly related to your niche such as here and digitalpoint and you'll be golden. This forum alone gets millions of hits a month and the users are interested in what you may have.

If you're looking for forums outside internet marketing, there is usually a popular forum for just about everything, or at least a relatively popular forum!

you can search google to find list of thousand of travel forums, but posting to forums with signature links are never returning to the forum after that will be of no value.

Have to be honest I haven't found forum posting to make much difference, either for traffic or link juice.

I respectfully disagree. Posting at relevant niche forums like the OP intends can garner a lot of targeted traffic as well as link juice if it's dofollow.

Theres lots out there. Just don't spam them by expecting to leave your sig and thats it. You'll get banned pretty much straight-away.

Webmasters are clever and can figure out quite quickly who are 'fly by nights' and those that are adding value to their forums.

I own several forums and all outgoing links are nofollow, I even let new users know when they signup that they will NOT get any juice from the forums.

From the post above, if you do contribute regularly and are part of the discussion then that will add to your credibility.

My only problem is that from your sig, I'm not sure how keen they will be to have a sig liekt hat since it directly competes with them.

Just my opinion that's all.

Thanks
Zaheer

The value in forum links comes from participating in the forum. As a backlink sigs are pretty low in quality. If you contribute to the forum and add something to the discussion you'll get direct traffic through them and probably find yourself with a few new friends who will help you promote your site.

No need list. Just go to google and type: your keywor forum.
Then you will get your keyword related forum. Not join and start posting. This way you will get related links.
Thanks

What will be the most benefit from your time invested? It would seem to me that working in one large forum and getting to know the community would be enough. There is always someone new to meet, something more to be done. I am often wrong-I invite comments.

I still belief that typing your "Specific keyword" in search engine is the best. As the most importants ones that will appear.

I agree, if you are active on those forums. You will get a lot of backlinks + actually a decent amount of traffic

I can't agree that creating a lot of profiles is useless. Create backlinks using your anchor text is the key to get a great position for your keyword (and forum marketing is one of the easiest way to do this!)

Wish they would nofollow signature links here. Too many useless posts in every thread.
examples on this thread alone:
"Thanks for the list"
"I still belief that typing your "Specific keyword" in search engine is the best. As the most importants ones that will appear." huh?
"you can search a lot of forums related to travel by using Google Search" Thanks Einstein!
