For example, yahoo is saying; 238 backlinks.. Backlinkwatch, 51. and LinkDiagnosis... 88. Which is accurate?! |

Yahoo will generally show you the most backlinks from other sites, as compared to Google for instance. But they also include your own pages, which is why the numbers are usually higher than other backlinking services. Tony |

Did you choose the right filtering options at Yahoo? Make sure you select "backlinks to this domain" only. you dont want the backlinks from the site itself to show up. Cheers Reinhardt |

Actually none of them is accurate. Most sites have a lot more backlinks, than these programs show. Maybe they show just the ones what count more in their opinion. But I'm pretty sure that these that don't show count too in your ranking. For example I rank number one for a product name I have promoted 2 days and yahoo explorer shows I have 0 backlinks. But I outrank authority sites in this field who have bunch of backlinks to their domain name and a few to a specific page their are trying to rank for this keyword and also a site which has the keyword in the domain name and has 50+ backlinks according to yahoo. I don't have keyword in my domain name and though I know I have built solid number of backlinks, yahoo still shows I have 0 backlinks, but still I outrank my competitors. |

You can use the respective search engine to get how many links are being listed. For example, in Google, do check site:xxxx.com to get how many links you're having

Have you checked that the links have been indexed (like a search for your user name and anything else unique to your links)? | |

andojnr The anchor url that you used to build your backlinks must be exactly the same as your url that has been indexed by the search engines - otherwise the backlinks will not show up. Try checking for backlinks using www[dot]domain[dot]com and domain.com. |
