Default AdWords, automatic or manual bidding?

Hi,

AdWords let you chose if you want to bid yourself, or try to maximize the clicks with automatic bidding. What do you prefer?

If you do manual bidding: How do you set the bids for new keywords? Do you start low and work yourself up, or do you start high and work yourself down?

Tip Re: AdWords, automatic or manual bidding?

I have not been with adword any time but learned many things about adword to get quick and good result and by here i would like to say you manual bidding is better than auto bidding because advertiser can actually see where he is the best and do better for results.

I automate the initial bidding high, then manually lower the bids as things go on.

If you want to let Google decide how much you pay for the keywords, do go ahead.

It is better to use manual bidding as you can pay according to your budget.

Second, different keywords have different prices, and this you have to set it yourself.

If you don't mind Google maximizing THEIR profit, use Automatic bidding.
If you want to maximize YOUR profit, use manual bidding.

@KirkMcD, do you use manual bidding also for the longtail keywords?

I tried automatic placement initially but now I prefer manual placement.
