Hi Warriors, I would appreciate any comments on the following question. Does anyone use wikipedia as content on their site? What are the pros and cons of using it? Would you rewrite it or leave it as is and tell everyone where it came from. If it has links it could draw people away from your site and the end goal of monitizing, right? If someone uses it I would really like to see how it looks on their site. Thanks for all your great gifts and post. All the best, Hightower  |

I would definitely rewrite it because the search engines aren't going to really recognize content that is exactly as a big authority site as wikipedia.

Especially because google gives such high priority to wiki sites, I wouldn't copy it word for word

Search a block of text from any Wiki entry. See how many times Google has indexed that block of text. Where does it rank? You won't get rich copying others. |

Its easy to rewrite it with software submitters or rewriters.

Use article spinners or hire a ghostwriter to help you with the content and not post the same as wikipedia. Since wiki is very crawled, using same content can hurt you. |

Sometime I use content from Wiki, but just use the rewriting rule. You place 3 words in 1 sentence I think is quite enough. Copying 100 % same will drop your rank in SERPS as Wiki is very trusted website
