Default Pricey hosting question

I plan to change to another reseller's hosting plan because of problems (security, speed) with my current one. I came across a hosting service I know is very secure and fast but is a little pricey ($30 a month for 2GB ).

Part of me says I should go for it since fast, secure hosting will bring more visitors to my sites and more clicks not to mention put my mind at easy about possible hacker attacks. I wonder though if I would be going overboard with the hosting since these are just adsense sites.

Would appreciate any advice on this one since changing hosting is kind of a pain. Does extra good hosting make any real difference with adsense earnings vs. something like hostgater? Was it just ****tty luck I've had hacker attacks?

As a general rule I say your hosting is the last thing you should scrimp on when it comes to quality. Uptime etc are what you need to build any kind of online business so my thought is better quality is always better.

$30 does not seem like a lot so if it is not going to stretch you at all then it may be worth just from a piece of mind stand point. One question I do have is 2GB of what? Is that bandwidth or disk space? That is not very much bandwidth for multiple sites so if it is then I would see what upping the plan would cost you if you need it. You should be able to check your stats and see what you are using now and just make sure that you get a plan that has at least that much with some room to grow.

Is this a deedicated server or shared hosting? If you're going to spend that mch then you may as well use a few companies. At least that way you've got some IP diversity. I use JustHost who have been great, cheap and the quality of the servers have been pretty good for my sites.

I would suggest that you look at speed as I think Google now looks at speed as one of it's ranking factors, cant say this for sure but theres a link in Webmaster Tools about speed that wasn't there before.

AS for speed, I dont think it'll increase your clicks, that depends on your traffic and how you drive it to your site, but it will add to the user experience. Its not a nice situation to be in and I don't envy you.

BTW, how many sites do you have?

Zaheer

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. It offers 2GB space 50GB Bandwidth.

I moved one site to the hosting and it immediately stopped some hacker attacks I was suffering and speeded things up a lot. I have about 15 other adsense sites and plan to build more. For the sites I am building, 2GB would go a long way.

In my own opinion $30 is expensive. I can get 1500 GB space with 1500 TB for just $6 a month, even I got discount as I made 3 years contract. About reliability I think most of web hosting that have more than 100,000 clients with them is a reliable web hosting. You can check that with them. Also I suggest You should use cpanel based webhosting for easier site management.

$30 is would not be a dedicated server.

$30 for "unlimited" bandwidth and disk space is not bad.

My host meets 4 criteria.

If I need more disk space, he ups it. I never have to worry
about using up bandwidth, same solution. I never have to
worry about being shut down if a payment is late or forgotten.
I am on a first name basis with him. Those 4 things are
priceless.
