Default Checking backlinks in bulk to see if indexed?

What's the best way to check to see which backlinks are indexed? (paid or free)

And not Andy Black's index checker.. that's good for about the first 50... after that you get blocked for queries.

Thanks,

Brandi

Thanks for that user.. I should have been a bit more clear.

I want a method that I can paste or import a list of URL's and know which ones have been indexed. Not a way to check the backlinks to my site.

Warmly,

Brandi

P.S. I'm thinking scrapebox does this... but I haven't used it in a bit... and I'm not sure how to go about doing this?

the easiest way to do this is to use a unique username or name when you create backlinks and use google to search for that term. You'll then know which one was indexed. Any service has to query google anyway.

Hi Brandi,

Yes, ScrapeBox does this. It's very easy.

All you have to do is load your url's via the "Import URL List" button, and then click the "Check Indexed" button. You'll be given the option to choose from Google, Yahoo or Bing.

Yes, Scrapebox doeshave that feature and it is very good because you can harvest proxies or add your own proivate proxies. Scrapebox will then iterate through them as it checks Googles Index.

My app, Index Checker, although only $7 does get blocked after a while. This varies with each user but generally the blocked icon can start to show from about 60 odd URL's. From recent tests, processing 60 URL's per hour works out fine. It doesn't block every URL's after a while and it does segregate the URLs into different result boxes.

I will be looking at adding a proxy feature tIndex Checker and existing users will get that upgrade for free.

If you have Scrapebox though it does have that feature and the software does SO much more. I love the software and it is quite powerful when sed right.

I didn't mean to sound short about your script- I love it and it would be great if it had proxy rotation!

Sorry about not singing its praises like I should have! Proxy rotation would be the bomb

Any word on proxy support? I have scrapebox but I am always using it for other things.

Seems there has to be a separate app to make a script rotate proxies but I cant seem to find one.

Some of the private proxy services, like Anonymizer, do automatic IP rotation. If you aren't hitting Google TOO quickly, you can get rotated to a new IP before you hit the wall.

While it is a BIG pain, you can also install a proxy plugin to FF, and use something like WinAutomation to run both your URL checker and proxy rotation - basically have the automation program run 50 links through the backlink checker, then switch to a different proxy, and run another 50 links through etc. That requires some "cobbling" on your part.

Best Regards, Georgetta

Was Index checker improved so Google doesn't block so often? Was a proxy rotation feature added?

Yea, replying to an old post, but someone revived the thread

You can have multiple Scrapebox copies open on one computer simultaneously (you just have to name each instance of scrapebox something different). Under Options --> Name your Instance of scrapebox.

How about trying my free tool..

ADVANCED BULK BACKLINKS CHECKER.

It's enhanced with Anchor Finder, Rel Finder, Title Finder, Target Finder and URL Source. Plus Save as CSV File, although still in developmental stage.

It's so simple, just enter your site (the site you want to check) on "Entry URL site you want to check:" textbox. Then entry any (unlimited) backlinks URL you want to check against your site above.

Yes, it's advance indeed. You can set what you want to see in the display area and want you can download in CSV file.

Here some advance features I have create i this early version:
1. It's all what you can get from a link, you will get the anchor, rel (nofollow or do follow), title, target and also raw URL source for your own inspection. All of that saved on CSV file for best offline usage or whatever.

2. You can display only what you want (and copied manually), the options are "Display all", "Display only found", "Display only found & do follow", "Display only found & nofollow" and "Display only not found". You have the freedom.

3. You can save as CSV only what you want (and then download), the options are "Save all", "Save only found", "Save only found & do follow", "Save only found & nofollow" and "Save only not found". You have the freedom too.

Scrapebox is indeed a good way of checking the backlinks which have been indexed. However I did use a piece of kit called SEOPEN, a Firefox plugin a while back. It was quite helpful though i'm not sure if it is still around or as good as scrapebox

On 03-28-2011 - I PM'd Andy for some additional details after reading his post response above:
Has this limitation been resolved to date?

How does your Index Checker now compare to
SEOpen or Scrapebox? in terms of features, pros & cons, advantages?
Andy responded as follows:
The advantages of Index Checker is that it is only $7. The reason why the queries get blocked after about 60 URLs in any one hour is because it exceeds Googles threshold for site: / cache: queries from one IP. [In the near future] Checker v2.0 it will have the ability to rotate proxies meaning more queries available... I may even include DB functionality or suchlike... [and] will likely roll other features into the app as well.
I hope this proves helpful.

Can Scrapebox find links that haven't been indexed? Is it able to find ALL the backlinks to a site or does it just find the same links you can find in Yahoo Site Explorer?

When I tried a harvest it seemed to just get the same links that I found in Yahoo SE.

SCRAPEBOX! Don't bother with individual tools. Buy the best one and learn how to use it. You can't believe how powerful this tool is and how much data you can really harvest with it.

You don't even need to use bluefart commenting to make this tool worth it.

I love Scrapebox and use it for various tasks now and then. I don't use it to check the indexing status though as it is way out. Developing an app that detects the indexing status with real accuracy isn't straight forward I'll tell you. It took me a long time of tweaking and testing and getting feedback from my users before I achieved it with Index Checker... and this is really with the latest release.

The biggest thing that I see almost everyday is that many people do not actually know how to manually determine when a page is indexed or not.. appearing in the search results and being cached happens at different times and can often cause conflict.

hmmm... $20 per month to check 50,000 links? Doesn't make a lot of sense if all you have is 1,000 links, IMO.
