I think that submission of content to article directories for SEO is losing its value, more and more. In the past you could be sure that after submitting your article it will be grabbed by other sites and blogs in the niche, republished, and you will get lots of backlinks. But today it is different. Lots of sites steal content and take away all backlinks from your content. And another big majority of sites simply quote the page of article directory where your article is published (usually with the useless in terms of SEO anchor text 'read more' or 'click here'). The bottom line of doing it, in terms of SEO, is about getting 5-10 really nice backlinks from one article. This is not enough today. Do you know any other alternatives to sharing content, but getting more good backlinks for that? |

But, it is what it is. We cannot stop people from stealing content from article directories. And even huge article directory monsters (like EzineArticles.com) can do nothing about it. I think the best way out is to have sort of *agreement* with owners of the sites in your niche to republish your content without touching the backlinks in the text.

I absolutely agree. You cannot do nothing about those stealers of our content, so why bother with them? Publish more quality articles, get more backlinks and enjoy the traffic.

Or, have it negotiated with the owners of niche sites to accept your content and they will never touch the backlinks. But this is not a traditional article marketing and directory submission. However, this is the trend that I see more and more in the net. I have blogs in different niches and quite often people contact me with a deal "give us publicity spot, we will publish unique content, you don't touch the backlinks" I assume they are doing the same with other blogs as well. So, the point is just to gather lots of blog owners, plug them to the unique content creators and everybody is happy. Blog owners get unique content, content creators get quality backlinks from inside the blog posts. |
